Embodiments described herein include wireless control of a welding power supply via portable electronic devices. In particular, operating parameters and statuses of the welding power supply may be modified by the portable electronic device, as well as be displayed on the portable electronic device. For example, in certain embodiments, the welding power supply may be an engine-driven welding power supply, and the portable electronic device may be configured to start and/or stop an engine of the engine-driven welding power supply. A pairing procedure may be used to pair the welding power supply and the portable electronic device in a wireless communication network. Furthermore, in certain embodiments, a method of prioritization of control between a control panel of the welding power supply and the portable electronic device may be implemented.

Systems and methods for pairing of wireless control devices with a welding power supply

Provided herein are systems that enable proportional air flow delivery control for an air compressor. One system includes a pneumatic air compression system having a flow control member and being adapted to receive inlet air and to compress the inlet air to produce compressed air. The system also includes a pneumatic flow control system including a proportional control valve having a proportionally variable activation state. Varying the activation state of the proportional control valve regulates a pressure acting on the flow control member to regulate the flow of the compressed air produced by the pneumatic air compression system in a variable manner, and further regulates a power demand placed on the engine by the pneumatic air compression system in a variable manner.

Systems and methods for wireless control of welding power supplies are disclosed. An example welding power supply includes: a housing comprising a control panel configured to receive inputs from an operator; power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power into output power for a welding operation; and local control circuitry configured to wirelessly receive a control signal from remote control circuitry of a portable electronic device, and to control the welding power supply based on the received control signal; wherein the local control circuitry is configured to set prioritization of control of the welding power supply between the portable electronic device and the control panel of the welding power supply, prevent the control panel from controlling a parameter of the welding power supply when the portable electronic device is prioritized, and prevent the portable electronic device from controlling the parameter when the control panel is prioritized.

A welding-type system includes a wireless network interface configured to connect a wire feeder or power supply to a wireless network. The wireless network interface is also configured to receive a wireless command in a first format. The wireless command is configured to control the power supply. Moreover, the wireless network interface is configured to convert the wireless command from the first format to a second format. The welding-type system also includes a wired transceiver configured to transmit the converted wireless command across a power delivery cable to the power supply. Furthermore, the welding-type system includes power terminals configured to receive power from the power supply at a level based at least in part on the transmitted wireless command.

A work vehicle with a vehicle cooling system that cools a vehicle engine. The work vehicle also includes a service pack cooling system configured to cool a service pack engine of a service pack. The work vehicle includes valving fluidly coupling the vehicle cooling system to the service pack cooling system. The valving is configured to allow independent or integrated operation of the vehicle cooling system and the service pack cooling system. The valving is also configured to permit the vehicle cooling system and the service pack cooling system to operate at different pressures.

Systems and methods for integrating work vehicle and service pack cooling systems

A power management system, in certain aspects, may utilize direct load sensing feedback from the prime mover (e.g., engine), thereby reducing the possibility of overloading the prime mover. The use of direct load sense feedback from the prime mover can then be used with additional feedback, such as prime mover RPM feedback and individual output load sensing feedback, to directly control the output loads and set the primary power sources rpm set-point to better manage the power available and reduce the possibility of overloading the primary power source.

A fuel usage monitoring system, in certain aspects, may be configured to determine the fuel usage rate of a work vehicle service pack engine using control signals relating to operating parameters of the service pack engine and associated equipment. In certain embodiments, the control signals may relate to operating parameters of the engine, a fuel injection pump associated with the engine, a governor associated with the fuel injection pump, a fuel reservoir associated with the engine, and other components associated with the engine. In particular, the control signals may relate a position of a control rack of the fuel injection pump. The control signals may be correlated with fuel usage rates prior to operation of the fuel usage monitoring system. In addition, the correlations may vary as certain parameters of the engine, such as operating speed, vary. The correlations may be implemented as algorithms within software of the fuel usage monitoring system.

A service pack for a work vehicle provides service systems, which may include an electrical generator, a hydraulic pump and an air compressor. The service pack is driven by an engine separate from that of the vehicle. Integration of the support systems for the vehicle engine and service engine may be provided. The service pack allows the vehicle engine to be shut down when at a service location, with the service pack engine alone providing the necessary electrical, hydraulic and compressed air services for maintenance and other service work.

A fuel tank has a void air space when the tank is filled through a filler tube that upstands from a reservoir. The reservoir has a baffle that depends from a top wall of the reservoir. Fuel entering the reservoir from the filler tube fills the reservoir up to the level of the lowermost edge of the baffle. Further filling of the tank causes the fuel level to rise in the filler tube. However, a void space is created because air and fuel vapor are trapped in the reservoir on the opposite side of the baffle as the filler tube, which prevents overfilling by an operator. A vent system connects the void space with the top end of the filler tube. Hydrostatic pressure exerted by the fuel on the air and fuel vapor in the void space expels the air and fuel vapor through the vent system to the filler tube, causing the fuel level to rise in the void space and simultaneously to lower in the filler tube. Eventually all the air and fuel vapor are expelled, and the fuel level in the filler tube is then at a minimum level. The invention is capable of venting a fuel tank that is tilted in operation such that a void space is present in the reservoir.

A battery box for an engine driven welding machine slides in an opening in the welding machine base between closed and open positions. When the battery box is in the closed position, a battery secured to a battery box is concealed inside the base. When the battery box is in the open position, the battery is exposed for servicing. Panels assembled to the base define an opening in the base. The panels cooperate with the base floor to form slots in which the battery box slides. The panels and base floor provide a cantilever support for the battery box when it is in the open position. A finger hole in the battery box is surrounded on one side by a small housing that keeps foreign material out of the machine base when the battery box is in the closed position.
