In a system including a processor and a computer-readable medium in communication with the processor, the computer-readable medium includes executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to control the system to perform receiving, from a remote system via a communication network, a first remote field of view (FOV) of a remote subject; causing, based on the received first remote FOV, a camera orienting unit to orient a camera in a first orientation, wherein the camera oriented in the first orientation has a first local FOV corresponding to the first remote FOV received from the remote system; upon orienting the camera in the first orientation, causing an image capturing unit to capture a first local image through a display; and transmitting, to the remote system via the communication network, the captured first local image.

Various approaches described herein improve the quality of results when fusing depth maps to generate dynamic three-dimensional ('3D') models, applying texture details to dynamic 3D models, or rendering views of textured, dynamic 3D models. For example, when fusing depth maps to generate a dynamic 3D model, a fusion component can also incorporate intrinsic color values for points of the dynamic 3D model, potentially making the dynamic 3D model more accurate, especially for areas in which depth values are not reliable or not available. As another example, when applying texture details, a rendering component can apply smoothed, viewpoint-dependent texture weights to texture values from different texture maps, which can reduce blurring and avoid the introduction of noticeable seams. As another example, a rendering component can apply special effects indicated by metadata to rendered views, thereby allowing a content provider to assert artistic control over presentation.

Fusing, texturing, and rendering views of dynamic three-dimensional models

Examples of the disclosure provide for an apparatus for actively promoting marine life. The apparatus includes a datacenter implemented in a body of water and coupled to a network, a pressure vessel that houses the datacenter, and one or more components coupled to the pressure vessel and adapted to actively promote reef life and sustain a surrounding ecosystem.

Aspects extend to methods, systems, and computer program products for predicting solid state drive reliability. Aspects of the invention can be used to predict and/or to configure a data center to minimize one or more of: SSD capacity degradation (how much storage an SSD has left), SSD performance degradation (reduced read/write latency/throughput), and SSD failure. Models and data center considerations can be based on device level SSD related operations, such as, for example, read, write, erase. Operations decisions can be made for a data center based on SSD specific features, such as, for example, remaining capacity, write amplification factor, etc. Dependence and/or causality of various different data center factors can be leveraged. The impact of the various data center factors on different SSD failure modes and capacity/performance degradation can be quantified to drive SSD design, SSD provisioning, and SSD operations.

Examples of the disclosure provide a datacenter configured for operation while submerged in water. The datacenter includes one or more physically separable modules. The datacenter also includes an intrusion detection system that has one or more intrusion detection modules.

In one example, a shell includes walls that collectively define an interior space of the shell, the interior space sized and configured to receive heat generating equipment. An internal heat exchanger disposed within the interior space is arranged for thermal communication with heat generating equipment when heat generating equipment is located in the interior space. Additionally, an external heat exchanger is located outside of the shell and arranged for fluid communication with the internal heat exchanger. Finally, a prime mover is provided that is in fluid communication with the internal heat exchanger and the external heat exchanger, and the prime mover is operable to circulate a flow of coolant through the internal heat exchanger and the external heat exchanger.

In one example, a portion of a shell includes a shell wall portion that has an interior wall portion and an exterior wall portion located near the interior wall portion. In addition, fluid passageways are disposed between the interior wall portion and the exterior wall portion. One or more of the fluid passageways are defined in part by one or both of the interior wall portion and the exterior wall portion. The fluid passageways form part of heat exchanger that is integrated in the shell.

In an information processing system which has plurality of modules including a processor, a main memory and a plurality of I/O devices, a data transfer switch for performing data transfer operations between the processor, main memory and I/O devices comprises a request bus which has a request bus arbiter for receiving read and write requests from each one of the plurality of modules. A processor memory bus is configured to receive address and data information from a predetermined number of modules, including the processor. The processor memory bus has a data bus arbiter for receiving data read and write requests from each one of the predetermined number of modules which are coupled to the processor memory bus. An internal memory bus is configured to receive address and data information from a predetermined number of modules, including the memory and the I/O devices. The internal memory bus has a data bus arbiter for receiving data read and write requests from each one of the predetermined number of modules coupled to the internal memory bus. A transceiver system is coupled to the processor memory bus and the internal memory bus for transferring data between the processor memory bus and the internal memory bus.

An integrated multimedia system having a multimedia processor is disposed in an integrated circuit having a first host processor system coupled to the multimedia processor and a second local processor disposed within the multimedia processor for controlling the operation of the multimedia processor. A data transfer switch is coupled to the second processor for transferring data to various modules of the processor, at least one of which is a data cache. The data transfer switch transfers data in either direction between the cache and a module within the processor. A data streamer schedules simultaneous data transfers among the various-modules disposed within the multimedia processor in accordance with corresponding channel allocations. An interface unit is coupled to the data streamer and has a plurality of input/output (I/O) device driver units. A plurality of external I/O devices are coupled to the plurality of I/O device driver units via a multiplexer.

Integrated multimedia system

An integrated multimedia system has a multimedia processor disposed in an integrated circuit. A processor is disposed within the multimedia processor which controls the operation of the multimedia processor. A data transfer switch is disposed within the multimedia processor and coupled to the processor which transfers data to various modules of the multimedia processor. A fixed function unit is disposed within the multimedia processor, coupled to the processor and the data transfer switch. A data streamer is coupled to the data transfer switch, and configured to schedule simultaneous data transfers among a plurality of modules disposed within the multimedia processor in accordance with the corresponding channel allocations. As interface unit is coupled to the data streamer and has a plurality of I/O device driver units. A multiplexer coupled to the interface unit provides access between a selected number of I/O device driver units and external I/O devices via output pins.

In a digital data processing system having an on-line file system component, a method and apparatus for archiving the contents of a selected client volume stored on the file system. The archiving is performed automatically, beginning with an initial duplication of the existing contents of the client volume into an archive volume, then continuing as changes, including additions, deletions and modifications, are made to the files comprising the client volume. Older, previously-archived versions of modified files are gracefully discarded so as to moderate the rate of growth of the archive volume. The archive volume may be used to restore the client volume, either selectively or in whole, in the event of inadvertent damage to, or loss of, files in the client volume.
