A smoking device has an inner cylinder receivable within an outer cylinder, the inner cylinder having a combustion chamber, an air chamber, a mouthpiece, and one or more air chamber slots and combustion chamber slots; the outer cylinder having a bore hole for receiving the inner cylinder, a smoke channel, and one or more bore slots. In some examples, the inner cylinder and outer cylinder have one or more magnets for securing the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder and for aligning the air and combustion chamber slots with the bore slots. A user may rotate the inner cylinder in relation to the outer cylinder, thereby changing which air and combustion slots are aligned with the bore slots and the smoke channel. As a result of the various alignments, a user is able to vary the temperature, taste, fuel-to-air ratio, and other factors.

A pulse oximeter is described. The pulse oximeter includes at least a sensor component, an engine, a display, and a microphone. The sensor component includes a receiving portion configured to receive a finger of an individual therein, an emitter component configured to emit light at one or more wavelengths into a tissue of the finger of the individual, and a detector component configured to detect the light originating from the emitter component that emanates from the tissue of the finger of the individual after passing through the tissue. The engine is configured to calculate physiological parameters for the individual based on data received from the sensor component. The engine includes a memory housing a first user profile associated with a first user and a second user profile associated with a second user and a processor connected to the memory. The processor includes a voice activation component, which uses algorithms to: analyze the audio input, compare the audio input to commands stored in the memory, determine that the audio input corresponds to a command of the commands stored in the memory based on the comparison, and process and execute the command. The display is configured to display the physiological parameters and other data to the individual.

Pulse oximeter with cellular communication capability

A system, apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving medical test data is provided having memory that stores computer-executable instructions; processor, communicatively coupled to the memory that facilitates execution of the computer-executable instructions; and having: a transmission means operatively associated with a device, a receiver adapted and configured to receive data from the transmission means; a central database adapted and configured to compile the data; wherein the data is transformed into an output comprised of an aggregate of medical test data from at least one medical test. The computer implemented method for transmitting and receiving medical test data comprises the steps of transmitting means operatively associated with a device, receiving data from the transmission means; compiling the data into a central database; and transforming the data from the database into an output comprised of an aggregate of medical test data from at least one medical tests.

System, apparatus and method for the wireless monitoring of medical test data

An apparatus for obtaining and transmitting medical test data, comprising a housing containing a processor, memory, and a power source; a display; a wireless transceiver configured to send data of the medical test to a remote location to be recorded in a central database, using at least one of a plurality of wireless communication services; an A1c detector, wherein the medical test is the detection of an A1c value by the A1c detector.

Information, such as files received from a client, etc., is stored in a storage system, such as a content addressable storage system. A file server receives data from a client and chunks the data into blocks of data. The file server also generates metadata for use in forming a data structure. The blocks of data are stored in a block store and a copy of the data blocks and the metadata are locally cached at the file server. A commit server retrieves the metadata. In at least one embodiment, the metadata is retrieved from an update log shared between the file server and the commit server. Based on the retrieved metadata, the commit server generates a version of a data structure. The data structure is then stored at the block store.

System and method for content addressable storage

An ultrasonic dental handpiece for holding a transducer is provided. The transducer converts electrical energy into ultrasonic vibrations. The dental handpiece includes a body, a rotator head, and a retainer ring. The body rotatably receives the transducer. The rotator head engages the transducer for rotation thereof. The retainer ring is fixedly coupled to one of the body and the rotator head and rotatably coupled to the other of the body and the rotator head, such that the rotator head is rotatably coupled to the body.

An ultrasonic dental insert for an ultrasonic dental tool is provided. The ultrasonic dental insert includes a transducer, a connecting body, a hand grip, at least one O-ring and a removable tip. The transducer generates ultrasonic vibrations. The connecting body has a proximal end attached to the transducer and a distal end. The distal end has an engagement portion formed thereon. The hand grip envelopes at least a portion of the connecting body. At least one O-ring is for shock absorption, and is mounted between the connecting body and the hand grip and around the engagement portion. The removable tip engages the engagement portion.

Ultrasonic dental insert having interchangeable plastic and metal tips

An insert for an ultrasonic dental unit is provided. The insert includes a transducer for generating ultrasonic vibrations, and a tip for applying the ultrasonic vibrations at a location inside the mouth of a patient. A connecting body is disposed between and attached to the transducer and the tip. The connecting body transmits the ultrasonic vibrations from the transducer to the tip. A retaining ring is snapped onto the connecting body. A hand grip is fitted at least partially over the connecting body and the retaining ring.
