A system includes a power supply and a power switch to connect an external power source that is external to the system to the power supply. The power switch has an on position and an off position. The power switch if actuated to the off position causes the system to be electrically isolated from the external power source. A control circuit is responsive to actuation of the power switch to provide a signal to cause software control of a power state of the system.

A remote control system for a computer, and a corresponding method include a Web camera having an image capture unit, the image capture unit including one or more devices capable of receiving imagery from multiple, distinct sections of the electromagnetic spectrum; a detection and separation module capable of detecting and separating the imagery into at least one signal capable of cursor control, wherein the signal capable of cursor control is generated by a remote control device; and a processing unit that receives the signal capable of cursor control and generates one or more cursor control signals, wherein the one or more cursor control signals include signals indicative of movement of the remote control device, the movement capable of translation to movement of a cursor displayed on a display of the computer.

System and method for remote control of a computer

Systems, apparatus and methods for controlling the flow of power are provided. A current source () can be coupled to an uninterruptible power supply () to provide an uninterruptible current. A first service connection () can be coupled to the uninterruptible current using one or more conductors. A monitor (), measuring one or more parameters, can be disposed in, on, or about the one or more conductors coupled to the first service connection (). A first interruptible service connection () can be coupled to the current source () using one or more conductors. A first switch () can be disposed in, on, or about the conductors coupled to the one or more interruptible service connections (). A control logic device () can be coupled to the monitor () and to the first switch () to interrupt the flow of current to the first interruptible service connection () when one or more parameters measured by the monitor () falls below a pre-determined threshold.

A computer chassis is provided. The computer chassis includes a housing having a first closed compartment with a first heat sink having a first heat dissipating surface formed on one side of the first closed compartment; and a second closed compartment having a second heat sink with a second heat dissipating surface formed on one side of the second closed compartment. The first and second compartments are substantially isolated from air flow within the housing. The housing, the first closed compartment and the second closed compartment are configured to define an air passage way between the housing, the first heat dissipating surface and the second heat dissipating surface. This air passage way forms a chimney effect that aids in cooling and promotes natural air convection.

Computer chassis

A modular computer includes a display with a docking station on its back side. A CPU module connects to the docking station. Peripheral modules connect with the resulting display/CPU assembly so that the peripheral modules contact the back side of the display screen.

Embodiments of mounting clips are described. One such embodiment of a mounting clip for attaching an object, device, or portion of a device to a computer monitor comprises a main body. At least one hook-shaped rib is coupled to the main body. The at least one rib is removably insertable within an opening in the computer monitor. A foot, coupled to the main body, contacts an exterior surface of the computer monitor while the at least one rib is inserted within the opening. A holder receptacle is coupled to the main body and provides a mating point for coupling an object to the mounting clip.

Keyboard

A clamping device for rigidly securing a web camera, or other object, to a monitor. The clamping device includes a body portion and a clamping portion. Springs are provided within the device that allow the clamping portion to be slid away from the body portion against the bias of the springs. A first flipper is mounted to one side of the body portion and a second flipper is mounted to an opposite side of the body portion. The clamping device is positioned on the top edge of the monitor so that a front support portion of the clamping portion is positioned against a front surface of the monitor above the screen and the flippers are positioned against a back panel of the monitor. The spring tension between the clamping portion and the flippers rigidly secures the clamping device to the monitor.
