A method for interrogating an FBG sensor includes lighting the FBG sensor with a broadband excitation optical radiation, conveying the optical spectrum transmitted or reflected by the FBG sensor to a tunable optical BPF having a first extraction port and a second transmission port, tuning the optical BPF at a constant operating wavelength, depending on nominal operating wavelength of the FBG sensor, detecting a first optical signal exiting the first extraction port, converting, by a first opto-electronic receiver, the first optical signal into a first electrical signal, representative of a wavelength shift of the spectrum transmitted or reflected by the FBG sensor, detecting a second optical signal exiting the second transmission port, converting the second optical signal, by a second opto-electronic receiver, into a second electrical signal, representative of an optical reference power, and determining the wavelength shift of the spectrum transmitted or reflected by FBG sensor, based on detected first and second electrical signals. A system for interrogating an FBG sensor is also provided.

A brake caliper for a disc brake system has a caliper body straddling the disc and having a first elongated portion facing a first braking surface of the brake disc, and a second elongated portion, opposite to the first elongated portion and facing a second braking surface of the brake disc opposite to the first braking surface. A bridge connects the first elongated portion and the second elongated portion to each other. The brake caliper has at least one pair of opposite brake pads, each brake pad having friction material and a support plate supporting the friction material, the support plate having a plate back facing a respective elongated portion of the first and second elongated portions. A detecting device for detecting a biasing force directed in axial direction is interposed between the plate back of the second brake pad and the second elongated portion of the caliper body.

A braking system for vehicles has a pilot pump with a manual actuation device, which is fluidically connected to an absorber device which simulates the driving resistance offered by at least one braking device. The system has at least one control unit operatively connected to at least one sensor and to the manual actuator device and is programmed to actuate the braking device via the actuator device when it receives from the sensors a braking action request signal. The control unit is programmed so as to correct the braking action requested by the user, actuating the manual actuator device so as to avoid blocking of one or more wheels or the occurrence of instability of the vehicle during braking. The control unit is programmed to induce on the manual actuation device at least one vibration when it corrects the braking action requested by the user.

One embodiment of a braking system for vehicles may have a first brake group and a second brake group. The first and second brake groups may have respective braking devices and electro-hydraulic actuator devices operatively connected to the first braking device. The system may also have an interconnection branch between first and the second hydraulic actuation ducts, provided with a control valve. The system may also have at least one control unit that may be programmed to actuate the control valve to control the ducts and fluidly connect the ducts.
