A drive belt for use in e.g. continuously variable transmissions consists of a number of U-shaped segments of e.g. steel having diverging shanks, the outer portions of which being folded around a wire or a band which keeps the segments together. The segments are made of wire and are manufactured by winding a wire helically on a template and cutting the wound wire structure longitudinally into two elongated parts consisting of a row of wire segments which are kept together by any suitable means. The belt is completed by winding a wire or band longitudinally around each elongated part and folding the outer portions of the shanks of the segments around the wire or band.

A clamping ring for use e.g. as a support around a jointing sleeve during explosion welding consists substantially of two preferably equal ring halves (1,2) connected to each other over slots (3) limited by flanges (4,5) comprising surfaces (6,7) which form an angle (.alpha.). The surfaces co-operate with opposing surfaces (10,11) on an annular clamping member (9) which enclosed the flanges. Means, e.g. screws (12), are provided for bringing about a wedging action by displacing of the clamping member in relation to the clamping ring, thereby varying the bore circumference of the clamping ring. The force uniting the clamping ring halves is completely taken up by the clamping member (9) and does not stress the screws (12).

The invention concerns a nut provided with a locking element (4, 5, 6, 7), which by e.g. a screw (8, 9, 10, 11) can be urged radially against a screw thread. In order to provide a self-contained and easily releasable nut the locking element is arranged in a recess which, together with the element, is so arranged that at least a part (12, 13, 14, 15) of the element is deformed elastically when the element is moved against the screw thread. Thereby the element springs out of contact with the thread when the screw (8, 9, 10, 11) is released.

A device for providing a clamping joint comprises two elements (1,2) with complementary threads, each having a flange constituting a clamping surface. Clamping takes place upon relative axial displacement of the elements (1,2) which can be brought about by screws (4) arranged axially in bores in a flange (5) on one element. In order to prevent accidental disengagement of the elements, at least one of the threads adjoins at one end to a part (6) which is wedged against an opposing thread flank when the elements (1,2) are rotated in relation to each other over a predetermined end position.

Device for providing a clamping joint

A device for fastening e.g. a bearing ring on a shaft comprises a clamping sleeve and a clamping member co-operating with the sleeve. The clamping member and the sleeve contact each other over wedge-shaped surfaces. The sleeve surfaces intended for contacting the bearing ring and the clamping member have such shape that the clamping force acts essentially on that part of the sleeve which co-operates with the clamping member, and no appreciable axial displacement takes place between the sleeve and the bearing ring. Thereby the bearing ring keeps its shape and position during mounting.

Device for fastening a machine element

In a device with a double-row angular contact bearing the outer raceways are arranged in elements (4,5) which are axially displaceable in relation to each other. Prestressing or play of the bearing is determined by an elastic ring (7) situated in a space delimited by opposing surfaces connected to the respective elements, whereby the axial bearing play decreases when the distance between the opposing surfaces increases.

Device comprising an angular contact bearing

A device for sealing a spherical rolling bearing comprises two annular sealing bodies (4, 5) arranged on the respective bearing rings and divided by a gap (6) with spherical opposing surfaces. A further sealing washer (9) is provided in recesses (7, 8) in the sealing bodies (4, 5) and delimits a space (10) in connection to the gap (6). The washer (9) is fixed in one sealing member (4) and is provided with a sealing lip (11) contacting a spherical surface of the other sealing body (5). The device gives a good sealing effect also when the rings of the bearing are skewed in relation to each other.

Device for sealing a self-aligning rolling bearing

A nut which is lockable on a threaded element comprises two annular parts (1, 2) connected by preferably resilient members (5). Locking takes place by tightening a screw (6) arranged in a threaded bore in one nut part and abutting against the other nut part. During tightening of the screw, the parts (1, 2) are displaced and/or skewed in relation to each other whereby locking takes place on the thread.

The invention refers to a device for torque transmitting interconnection of two shafts (1, 2) or the like. The shafts are at their opposite ends provided with flanges formed as clamping sleeves incorporating inner and outer sleeves (7 and 6 respectively), the inner sleeve of which is clamped against the shaft at a relative axial displacement of the sleeves. Power transmission takes place via a number of axial pegs (5) which extend between recesses in each flange. A part of each recess is situated in each of the inner and outer sleeves whereby a relative rotation of the sleeves is prevented by the pegs, and the resistance of the inner sleeve against clamping is reduced.

Torque transmitting coupling

A device for interconnection of two members with cylindrical end portions, comprising a sleeve arranged adjacent both end portions and at least one annular member which by means of axial adjustment along a non-cylindrical section of the sleeve brings about a clamping with a consequent frictional engagement against said cylindrical end portions, whereby forces and torque can be transferred by means of the sleeve interconnecting the members, characterized thereby that the non-cylindrical section of the sleeve consists of a section equipped with threads wherein the profiles of both sides of the thread flanks in longitudinal section define equal angles with the axis of the sleeve, and that said threads cooperate with corresponding threads on two annular members which are arranged in connection to each cylindrical end portion and which are axially displaceable relative to each other and to the sleeve without rotating relative to the sleeve.

Clamp coupling

The invention relates to a bearing housing (1) for supporting a bearing (2) in a bearing seat arranged in the housing. In order to provide a rigid, strong, lightweight and inexpensive bearing housing, the housing has the shape of a tube with a mainly rectangular cross section. The axis (3) of a bearing mounted in the housing extends mainly perpendicular to two housing walls (4) facing each other and the bearing is enclosed by the housing.

The invention refers to a device for producing a friction joint incorporating two members (1,2) having concentric opposite and mainly tapering surfaces, which are squeezed against each other at a relative axial displacement in one direction. The joint preferably incorporates a sleeve, on which one of said surfaces is arranged and for obtaining a minimum radial extension are the joint surfaces in longitudinal section provided with a saw tooth contour, which can be formed by a number of taper portions arranged in a row or by a helical ramp (6), which forms an angle to the center axes of the members.

Friction joint

The invention relates to a device for transforming rotational movement into linear movement or the reverse. The device comprises a cylindrical shaft and at least one support displaceable along the shaft for supporting at least one bearing with a ring which surrounds the shaft and is rotatable relative to the support. The bore diameter of the ring is larger than the shaft diameter and the ring has an inclined position in relation to the shaft and is pressed into contacting the shaft. In order to ensure simple manufacturing and assembling of the device, the support is provided with an opening for the bearing, which opening extends across the support and has a constant cross section profile along the entire extension, mainly corresponding to the axial bearing profile.

The invention concerns a sealing device and is characterized by comprising an outer T-shaped supporting ring (5) and an inner U-shaped supporting ring (7), at least one sealing element (12, 13) preferably having flocked fibres being arranged between the outer and inner supporting ring.

Sealing device

A method for improving the impact strength of fiber reinforced plastic materials hard at ambient temperatures is described, the improvement comprising introducing particulate metal in the form of deformable particles of about 2-20 .mu.m thickness and having a length of about 10-20 times the thickness, the metal particles constituting about 10 to 80% and preferably about 20 to 50% by weight of the composition, and said particles being in contact with each other, and the composition containing a fiberglass mat of about 300 g/m.sup.2, whereby the impact resistance of the composition is rendered many times greater than the additive impact resistance imparted by either the reinforcing fibers or deformable metal particles alone.
