The system comprises a group of transceiver chips, wherein each transceiver chip has a respective chip-associated (e.g., on-chip) frequency generator configured to provide a respective conversion frequency, and wherein each transceiver chip is configured to use the respective conversion frequency for on-chip frequency conversion of a transceiver signal. The system also comprises a controller adapted to cause configuration of the respective chip-associated frequency generator of at least one of the transceiver chips, wherein the configuration comprises dynamically setting the respective conversion frequency. In some embodiments, the controller comprises a single piece of circuitry separate from the transceiver chips. The single piece of circuitry is adapted to cause configuration of the respective chip-associated frequency generator of two or more of the transceiver chips.

There is provided a reflection node for handling link failure towards a network node. The reflection node includes a controller for controlling a passive meta-surface having a controllable reflection angle for reflecting radio waves over a communication channel between a network node and a wireless device. The reflection node includes a transceiver unit for receiving instructions from the network node over a control channel. The transceiver unit is configured to determine a link failure event on the control channel between the reflection node and the network node. The controller is configured to, during the link failure event, control the reflection angle of the passive meta-surface using reflection settings specified by configuration data for reflecting the radio waves over the communication channel.

Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.
