A computer system () has processing circuitry to assist in handling a set of differentials of a vehicle. The processing circuitry determines a required longitudinal force for driving the vehicle in a driving direction. The processing circuitry predicts a first longitudinal force of the vehicle according to a current configuration, and to predict second longitudinal forces of the vehicle using differential locking configurations associated with locking or unlocking the set of differentials. The processing circuitry is configured to, when the first longitudinal force is below the required longitudinal force, select one of the differential locking configurations for the vehicle to use, which selected differential locking configuration is associated with a second longitudinal force equal to, or greater than, the required longitudinal force.

Handling differentials in a vehicle

Method for estimating tyre normal force

A method for reducing off-tracking by a multi-trailer heavy duty vehicle during a maneuver is disclosed. The method obtains a model of vehicle dynamics describing dynamics of the multi -trailer heavy duty vehicle, determines respective force trajectories for two or more axles of the vehicle as a solution to a NOCP. The NOCP is formulated with an objective to at least minimize trailer off-tracking, and based on the model of vehicle dynamics. The motion of the heavy duty vehicle is controlled during the maneuver based on the determined force trajectories.

The disclosure relates to a method to control torque distribution among a plurality of electric machines connected to at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel of a vehicle during operation, comprising: acquiring the total torque requested; obtaining the most energy efficient torque distribution mode by using a loss model or loss map; evaluating the actual driving situation; determining if a mode switch is allowed depending on the actual driving situation; switching the torque distribution mode, if allowed; and preventing a mode switch, if not allowed.
