The present invention relates to a nicotine-impermeable container and a method for fabricating same. Additionally, the invention relates to a nicotine inhaling device which allows a user to ingest nicotine vapors orally. The nicotine inhaling device of the present invention is primarily directed to a device which can be used as a smoking cessation aid.

The present invention relates to a nicotine-impermeable container including a barrier layer of acrylonitrile and methyl acrylate and a method for fabricating same. Additionally, the invention relates to a nicotine inhaling device which allows a user to ingest nicotine vapors orally. The nicotine inhaling device of the present invention is primarily directed to a device which can be used as a smoking cessation aid.

A disposable assembly comprises a drug container (2) having at one end an opening which is surrounded by an outwardly directed flange (7). A connector (1) has a sleeve (13) which is closed (14) at one end and open at its opposite end to receive the flanged end of the drug container as a plunger. Positioning means (18,19) provided within the sleeve and cooperating with the flange define an inserted and a retracted position of said sleeve relative to the flanged end of the drug container. A piercing member (15) provided at the closed end of the sleeve is directed towards the open sleeve end. A connecting member (16) provided at the closed sleeve end is directed opposite to said piercing member (15) and communicating therewith by means of a through passage (17).

This invention concerns a disposable single dose syringe type applicator in the form of an elongated body that comprises two integrally joined sections which can be separated by breaking. One section is a tubular barrel section which constitutes a medicament reservoir having two openings. The other section is a rod-like section, which constitutes a plunger, which, by reason of being integrally joined to the barrel section seals one opening of the reservoir. The reservoir section is prefilled with a medicament. At the other opening end of the medicament reservoir, through which it is prefilled with medicament, there is arranged an easily removable sealing means. After separation, the plunger section slidably fits into the reservoir in such a way that essentially the whole medicament content of the reservoir is ejected therefrom when the plunger is inserted into the reservoir.
