A pneumatic device having a pneumatic cylinder and a piston movably mounted in the pneumatic cylinder to divide an interior of the pneumatic cylinder into two chambers. The chambers are connected to a line network having a valve assembly. The line network, in a plurality of operating states of the valve assembly serving for venting the respective chamber, connects the respective chamber to at least a respective selected one of a plurality of outflow openings, of the pneumatic device, and in a further operating state of the valve assembly, disconnects the respective chamber from the outflow opening. A control installation of the pneumatic device adjusts the operating state of the valve assembly. The line network is designed so that, in at least three of the operating states for venting the respective chamber, the connection between the respective chamber and the outflow opening is established by mutually dissimilar flow resistances.

A steering shaft may include an inner shaft at least partially within an outer shaft where the inner shaft includes a sliding element with an outer profile portion. The outer shaft may be displaced relative to the inner shaft axially in a direction of a longitudinal axis between a storage position and an operating position. A steering column may include an inner covering pipe in which such a steering shaft is rotatably supported and an outer covering unit in which the inner covering pipe is retained. The outer shaft may have a bearing means having an inner profile portion that corresponds to the outer profile portion. In the storage position the outer profile portion is at least partially received in the bearing means.

A steering column may include a casing pipe disposed longitudinally movably in a casing unit, a steering spindle rotatably supported about a longitudinal axis in the casing pipe, and a clamping device configurable in a fixing position for securing the casing unit relative to the casing pipe. The clamping device may have an engagement element supported on the casing pipe, having an upper side parallel to the longitudinal axis, and having lateral edge sides. The clamping device may have a locking element supported in the longitudinal direction on the casing unit and that can be moved to adjust the fixing position in a normal direction of the upper side against the engagement element. Positive-locking elements on the locking and engagement elements are engageable to produce a positive-locking connection in the longitudinal direction, at least some of which are disposed on an edge side of the engagement element.

Steering column for a motor vehicle

A steering column that is adjustable by a motor may include a supporting unit that is attachable to a vehicle body, an actuating unit held by the supporting unit, a steering spindle mounted in the actuating unit rotatably about a longitudinal axis, an adjusting drive for adjusting the actuating unit relative to the supporting unit via a threaded spindle and spindle nut, and a drive unit by which the threaded spindle can be driven rotationally relative to the spindle nut. To improve compactness and greater structural freedom, the drive unit may be connected via a flexible drive connection to a gear unit that can be moved spatially relative to the drive unit.
