A system for calibrating a device for measuring materials concentration in the blood is disclosed. The system may include at least two sets of calibrating elements, each set may include a plurality of calibrating elements. Each of the calibrating elements in the sets may include, a first layer simulating a specific human skin characteristics; and a second layer consisting a specific concentration of one or more materials in the blood. For all calibrating elements in a set the first layer may be the same first layer simulating the same human skin characteristics such that each set of calibrating elements simulate different skin characteristics. Each calibrating element in a set of calibrating elements may include a different second layer consisting a different concentration of the one or more materials. The system may further include a controller.

Device, system and method for calibrating a non-invasive health monitoring device

A device, system and method of non-invasive monitoring of physiological measurements of a subject are disclosed. The method may include: emitting light beams towards skin of the subject, with at least one light source having at least one predetermined polarization, wherein the light beams are emitted at an angle 0&#xb0;&#x2264;&#x3b1;&#x3c;90&#xb0; relative to the normal to the skin surface of the subject; sensing light beams with at least one light sensor positioned at a predetermined distance from the at least one light emitting source; filtering out signals corresponding to detected light beams based on the at least one predetermined polarization of the at least one light source; and determining at least one physiological signal, based on the sensed light beams after filtering. The sensed light beams may pass through at least one of epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue and blood vessel of the subject.

System and method for noninvasive analysis of subcutaneous tissue

A method for noninvasive analysis of subcutaneous tissue includes irradiating a surface of the tissue with short wave infrared (SWIR) radiation in a first spectral band that is strongly absorbed by water, and with SWIR radiation in a second spectral band such that an interaction of the radiation in both spectral bands with a component of the tissue other than water is substantially identical. An intensity of the radiation in each of the spectral bands that emerges from the tissue is measured. A relative absorption by the tissue of radiation in one of spectral bands relative to absorption by the tissue of radiation in the other of the spectral bands is calculated. A state of the tissue is determined in accordance with the calculated relative absorption.

A device and method to diagnose an internal abnormality in a living subject by sensing a passively occurring electromagnetic radiation signal associated with the abnormality and inside an orifice of the subject. Diagnosis includes detection, imaging or identification of the abnormality. An instrument is used either to bring a sensor into the orifice or to transmit the signal to a sensor located outside of the orifice. An example of the instrument includes a prior art endoscope.
