A high refractive index, polarized spectacle lens and a process for the production of the lens are provided. The lens includes a high refractive index lens substrate and a multi-layer, polarized film. The multi-layer, polarized film, in turn, includes at least one transparent support layer and at least two adhesion layers, wherein at least one of the adhesion layers is a polarized adhesion layer.

High refractive index polarized spectacle lens

A polarized ophthalmic lens has a polarization gradient with a primary light transmission gradient. The lens also includes a secondary light transmission gradient, the secondary light transmission gradient being complementary to the primary light transmission gradient such that the lens exhibits uniform light transmission.

Gradient polarized ophthalmic lens

A method for producing polarized eyewear is disclosed, which includes providing a polarizing film or a blank of the eyewear having a polarizing film, whereby the polarizing film is made of a substrate film and a polarizing agent; dipping the polarizing film or the blank with the polarizing film into a solvent; and dissolving the polarizing agent from the polarizing film.
