The invention relates to a device (), a system () and a method for modifying the cross section of a tower section () of a wind turbine, wherein the tower section comprises a flange () located at an end () of the tower section having a plurality of through holes () spaced around its circumference for securing said tower section to another wind turbine section. The method comprises securing tensioning mechanism () to each of a pair of said plurality of through holes in the flange of the tower section, said pair of holes being generally opposed; and applying a tensile force between said pair of holes in the flange of the tower section.

Device and method for assembling wind turbine

A method of installing rotor blades on an offshore wind turbine includes arranging a tower of the wind turbine at an offshore installation site. Then a first end of a tensioner is fastened to at least one of the tower, the nacelle, and the hub at a distance above sea level. A second end of the tensioner is fastened to a holding device floating in the sea at a distance from the tower. Then a pulling force is applied to the tensioner from the holding device at least part of the time while the rotor blades are being mounted to the hub, so that oscillations of the tower due to external forces are dampened during installation of the rotor blades.

An alignment tool for the alignment of a pair of vertical flanges for the connection of the longitudinal edges of adjacent segments of a cylindrical section of a wind turbine tower, comprises mounting means for connecting the alignment tool to a portion of a vertical flange of a tower segment; and a longitudinal alignment head for aligning the vertical flange with an opposing vertical flange of an adjacent tower segment. The alignment head comprises a front portion extending in a forwards direction from the mounting means, the front portion comprising a lower guiding surface adapted to abut with a top guiding edge of the opposing vertical flange or a bracket or tool mounted thereon and to guide the alignment head over the top edge of the opposing flange, bracket or tool as the vertical flanges are brought towards each other during connection of the adjacent tower segments.

Alignment tool, system and method for the connection of wind turbine tower segments

A method for moving a wind turbine component () relative to a wind turbine () having a tower () with a door () for closing off an opening () through the tower () includes removably positioning a transport system () relative to the wind turbine (), the transport system () having a track () and a powered drive device (), such that a first end () of the track () is positioned outside the tower (), a second end () of the track () is positioned inside the tower (), and the track () extends through the opening () in the tower (). The transport system () is configured to facilitate movement of the wind turbine component () between an inside of the tower () and an outside of the tower () through the opening (). The method further comprises moving the wind turbine component () vertically within the tower () away from or toward the track () using the powered drive device () of the transport system ().
