A watt-hour meter may include one or more electrical junction points that interface a Distributed Energy Resource to an energy-consuming structure and to the electrical distribution grid, while maintaining compliance with interconnection requirements for safety, power quality and automatic disconnect capabilities.

Technologies are generally described for a pocket junction box system. In an example, a pocket junction box is configured to fit inside a meter collar. The pocket junction box includes a first set of electrical terminals on a rear surface of the pocket junction box for interfacing with wire leads inside the meter collar, and a second set of electrical terminals on a front surface of the pocket junction box for interfacing with field wire leads outside the meter collar. The pocket junction box may further include at least one current transducer and at least one microprocessor for monitoring the power flow through the pocket junction box. A front casing is attached to the front surface of the pocket junction box and connected to the second set of electrical terminals. The front casing may include a communications circuit board for communicating with a meter data management system.

Technologies are generally described for a socket, plug, and jumper system. In an example, a receptacle socket includes a first prong receptacle for a ground circuit, a second prong receptacle for a neutral circuit, and a third prong receptacle for an active voltage circuit. A plug housing includes a first prong contact corresponding to the first prong receptacle for the ground circuit, a second prong contact corresponding to the second prong receptacle for the neutral circuit, and a fourth prong receptacle for the active voltage circuit. A jumper component includes a third prong contact corresponding to the third prong receptacle for the active voltage circuit, and a fourth prong contact corresponding to the fourth prong receptacle for the active voltage circuit, wherein the fourth prong contact is completely recessed within the jumper component.
