An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator control system includes a drive configured to control power provided to an elevator machine, a machine power switch module configured to selectively disconnect power from the elevator machine, and a brake power switch module configured to selectively disconnect power from a brake associated with the elevator machine. A monitor module includes a first monitor unit and a second monitor unit. Each monitor unit is configured to monitor a condition of the machine power switch module and the brake power switch module. The monitor units each provide an output to the other monitor unit including a current condition of the machine power switch module and a current condition of the brake power switch module as detected by that monitoring unit. Each of the monitor units is configured to determine whether there is correspondence between the outputs.

Elevator control system with reliability monitoring

An illustrative example embodiment of a wireless power transfer device includes an inductor panel and a capacitor panel adjacent the inductor panel. The capacitor panel includes a first conductive plate adjacent one side of the inductor panel, a dielectric layer adjacent the first conductive plate, and a second conductive plate adjacent the dielectric layer on an opposite side of the dielectric layer from the first conductive plate.

An illustrative example embodiment of a buck-boost converter includes at least three input/output ports, at least three sets of switches, and at least two ripple current limiters. One of the sets of switches is associated with each of the input/output ports. Each of the ripple current limiters is associated with a respective one of the sets of switches between the associated set of switches and another one of the sets of switches.

Multi-port buck-boost converter and method of control

A method of controlling a tunable passive component in a pulse width modulation controlled switched mode power supply (SMPS) having a power input and an output with tunable passive component power filter. The method includes operably connecting and supplying power relative to a circuit ground to a DC bus, converting a voltage on the DC bus to an output voltage by operating a first switching device and a second switching device at a selected frequency, and filtering the output voltage with a tunable output filter, the tunable output filter including a tunable passive component responsive to a control function circuit configured to automatically tune the tunable passive component value based on a voltage associated with operation of the power supply to maintain resonance of the tunable output filter at about the selected frequency.
