A system for monitoring a building automation system (BAS). The systems may include a device to report data, a memory having an application that requires that the data from the device be reported at least at a minimum frequency, and a controller to receive the data from the device at least at the minimum frequency and use the application and the data to determine an operational status of a component of the BAS.

Methods, devices, and systems for building automation system visualization from ontology are described herein. One device includes a display, a processing resource, and a memory having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the processing resource, cause the processing resource to determine a respective model associated with each of a plurality of devices of a Building Automation System (BAS), wherein each respective model includes an input handler and an output handler associated with its respective device, display, via the display, a visualization of the plurality of models and connections between the plurality of models, wherein the visualization is created from a template having a particular ontology corresponding to the BAS, receive operating information associated with the BAS from at least one of the plurality of devices, and modify the visualization based on the received operating information.

Described herein are systems and methods for presenting building information. In overview, the technologies described herein provide relationships between Building Information Modeling (BIM) data (which includes building schematics defined in terms of standardized three dimensional models) and Building Management System (BMS) data (which includes data indicative of the operation of building components such as HVAC components and the like). Some embodiments use relationships between these forms of data thereby to assist technicians in identifying the physical location of particular pieces of equipment, for example in the context of performing inspections and/or maintenance. In some cases this includes the provision of 2D and/or 3D maps to portable devices, these maps including the location of equipment defined both in BIM and BMS data. In some cases, augmented reality technology is applied thereby to provide richer access to positional information.

Systems and methods for presenting building information

Systems, methods, and computer-readable and executable instructions are provided for extracting relationship data from building information model (BIM) data. Extracting relationship data from BIM data can include generating a three dimensional geometric model of a number of objects within the BIM data. Extracting relationship data from BIM data can also include determining a number of spatial relationships between a number of objects, wherein the spatial relationships are determined from the three dimensional geometric model. Furthermore, extracting relationship data from BIM data can include exporting the spatial relationships based on a number of criteria.

Described herein are systems and methods for managing business objects. In overview, various embodiments provide software, hardware and methodologies underlying a data driven application including a data driven business layer, optionally in combination with a data driven user interface and presentation layer. In overview, an object-oriented computer program includes a presentation layer, a business layer, and a database. The business layer provides business objects, which effectively interpose the presentation layer with the database. Substantive business object data is defined within the database, and loaded to the business layer following the receipt of a page call-up request at the presentation layer.
