A domestic cooking appliance for heating a food item is provided. The domestic cooking appliance includes a housing; a cooking chamber located in the housing and having a wall, the cooking chamber being configured to contain the food item while the food item is being heated; a heating element that provides heat to the cooking chamber for heating the food item; a temperature detector located in the cooking chamber and configured to detect a temperature in the cooking chamber; and a temperature detector positive motion stop located in the cooking chamber and surrounding a portion of the temperature detector.

A home cooking appliance includes a rear vent trim at a rear side of the top of the housing that is configured to guide flue gases exiting from an exhaust channel of a cooking compartment in an upward direction out of the housing. The rear vent trim includes a body, a back panel closing a rear side of the body, and a heat shield disposed between the back panel and the flue gases flowing in the rear vent trim. The heat shield is spaced from the back panel and forms an air gap between the back panel and the heat shield.

A household cooking appliance include a housing having an oven chamber accessible through an opening, the opening having a seal surrounding a perimeter of the opening; and a door covering the opening and moveable about a hinge between an open position and a closed position. The door includes a full glass inner panel that abuts the seal when the door is in a closed position. The full glass inner panel includes a surface having a first portion and a second portion. A cooking appliance having a broiler may include a housing defining an upper compartment above the broiler and a rear compartment behind the broiler. A gas mixing pipe extends through the upper compartment to the rear compartment via an opening in an interior wall of the housing. A cover is removably coupled to an outer surface of the interior wall, such that opposing U-shaped slots of the two cover portions collectively form an aperture that conforms to an outer periphery of the gas mixing pipe. Accordingly, the cover blocks one or more gaps in the interior wall, such that the cover is configured to prevent gases from passing into the rear compartment through the gaps.

Cooking appliances described herein may include an oven and a cooktop disposed above the oven. The oven may have an oven cavity and an oven door configured to open and close the oven cavity by pivoting about a horizontal axis. A linear actuator may be coupled to the oven door and configured to reposition the oven door in a vertical direction.
