A drug delivery device is provided herein, the device including a reservoir for containing a medicament. The medicament includes a suspension of solids in a liquid carrier. The device also includes a needle having a distal end for injection into a patient, a proximal end in communication with the reservoir, and a lumen extending between the distal and proximal ends. A path is defined from the reservoir to the distal end of the needle through the lumen, the path having an inner diameter that decreases in a proximal to distal direction along at least a portion thereof. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a flow path may be defined which provides a more gradual transition in diameter from the reservoir to a distal tip of the needle. In this manner, changes in velocity of the suspension may be less abrupt than in the prior art, thus better maintaining solid particles in the suspension.

A wireless communication system () includes a base station controller () that receives timing information from a data set () that is generated by a neural network (). The data set () allows for generating timing information based upon previous time information received from a GPS () and in one example, is capable of covering a time interval of up to two weeks during which effective communication with the GPS may be interrupted. In one example, the data set is continuously updated so that the base station controller () continuously has up to two weeks of future time information available.

An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding enclosure includes a base having a first threaded lip. A cover has a second threaded lip. The second threaded lip screws onto the first threaded lip and attaches the cover to the base. The base is provided with a first inner recessed wall and the cover is provided with a second inner recessed wall. When the cover is screwed onto the base, the first and second recessed walls form a hollow cavity within the EMI shielding enclosure. The hollow cavity has a curvilinear profile in cross section, such as an ellipsoidal profile, which improves the EMI attenuation characteristics of the EMI shielding enclosure.

Electromagnetic interference shielding enclosure

An enclosure protects electronic equipment from physical contact and electromagnetic interference. The enclosure includes a base portion which is attachable to a circuit board and which surrounds all sides of the electronic equipment. A cover is attachable to the base in order to cover the top of the electronic equipment. The cover is attachable to the base by snap-in tangs formed on the base which cooperate with projections formed on the cover. The base is attachable to the circuit board by snap-in fasteners formed on the base. The base and the cover are made of a material which reflects and/or absorbs EMI. The EMI shielding enclosure protects the electronic equipment and allows access to the electronic equipment for replacement or repair without having to take the time to manipulate separate mechanical fasteners.

EMI shielding enclosure

An electronic isolation shield mounts on a circuit board, around an electronic component to provide a minimum amount of shielding over a set period of time. The shield has a body made from a shielding material that is sized and shaped to fit around and cover the electronic component. The body has a sealing edge that is adapted to contact an upper surface of the circuit board and surround the electronic component. Resilient downwardly projecting tabs are attached to the body and each includes a securing end that extends past the sealing edge. The tab is securable to the circuit board along a securing axis. The sealing edge of the body is forced into sealing engagement with the upper surface of circuit board. The tab is laterally displaced with respect to the securing axis continuously over the set period of time so that the sealing edge is forced into the circuit board sufficiently to provide the minimum amount of shielding to the electronic component over the set period of time. A method of determining the minimum number of tabs that are required includes ascertaining the creep strain for the tab material, determining the mathematical ratio between pressure applied by the tabs at the beginning of the shield's service life to the pressure applied at the end of the service life, determining the minimum amount of pressure that is required to be applied by the tabs throughout the service life, and determining the minimum number of tabs that are required to apply the determined minimum pressure throughout the entire set period of time based on the determined mathematical ratio.

Method of determining the minimum number of securing points required on an electronic isolation shield to sufficiently secure the shield to a circuit board

A modular apparatus is described which houses electronic equipment. The apparatus includes a plurality of electronic modules surrounded by an air vent system. In one embodiment, the air vent system cools the electronic components indirectly, through a connection module. In another embodiment the electronic components are cooled directly. One of the main advantages of the present invention is its modular configuration which allows additional components to be added with relative ease as the requirements of the system are expanded over time.
