There is provided a microfluidic device comprising: a microfluidic device for preparing a cell model, comprising: a housing having at least three layers; a first inlet area at a top layer and at one end of the housing for receiving a first mixture comprising cells; a second inlet area at the top layer and at an opposite end of the housing for receiving a second mixture containing one or more agents or one or more pathogens; and a plurality of microchannels through which the first mixture and/or the second mixture flows into corresponding wells, wherein each microchannel has an end in fluid communication with the first inlet area, and another end in fluid communication with the second inlet area. There are also provided methods comprising using the device.

Microfluidic device and method of preparing a cell model for disease associated with cancer

A microfluidic device containing an inlet, a microchannel in fluid communication with the inlet, and a plurality of outlets in fluid communication with the microchannel. The microchannel contains a loop; or from about 1 loop to about 50 loops; or from about 2 loops to about 25 loops; or from about 5 loops to about 15 loops. A method for detecting an infected cell may employ the microfluidic device.

A vascular graft includes a flexible substrate that can assume an unrolled configuration, in which the substrate extends along a main extension plane, and a rolled-up configuration, in which a first side of the substrate is facing radially inward and a second side of the substrate is facing radially outward. At least one pressure sensing device is arranged on the first side of the substrate and includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a piezoelectric element arranged between the two electrodes. At least one velocity sensing device is arranged on the first side of the substrate and a first electrode, a second electrode, and a piezoelectric element arranged between the electrodes. The graft can be used in a vascular graft system.

Intelligent vascular graft

The present disclosure provides a platform and method for predicting disease prognosis based on label-free liquid biopsy, in particular, to establish a disease model in vitro on a microfluidic device and provide a trained deep learning neural network for automatically extracting morphological features from cell clusters formed by the label-free liquid biopsy of a test subject in order to predict different disease stages and evaluate efficacies of a corresponding treatment regime to the test subject. The present disclosure also provides a method for training the neural network based on different cell cluster datasets obtained from the disease model corresponding to different deep learning models of the neural network.
