Surgical introducer

A surgical garment configured for attachment to a surgical helmet, wherein the surgical garment defines a barrier between the wearer and the environment. The surgical helmet includes a peripheral device, a chin bar, and a coupling member. The coupling member may be recessed within the chin bar. The surgical garment may comprise an attachment element configured to removably couple with the coupling member of the surgical helmet. The coupling member and attachment member may comprise reciprocal features, such as a protrusion and a recess. The protrusion and/or corresponding recess may comprise a curved or similarly shaped surface configured to resist decoupling of the attachment member and the coupling member when a force is applied to the surgical garment.

Method of operating a surgical apparel system including a surgical helmet and surgical garment

A surgical helmet assembly to be worn by a user during surgical operations. The surgical helmet assembly includes a frame assembly having a helmet shell to be worn over the user's head. A fan is coupled to the helmet shell to circulate air around the helmet shell. A headband assembly is coupled to the helmet shell to secure the surgical helmet assembly to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly further includes an adjustment assembly to adjust a sagittal fit of the helmet shell and the headband assembly to the head of the user while keeping a center of mass of the frame assembly in close proximity to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly may further include another adjustment assembly concentric to the first adjustment assembly to adjust a circumferential fit of the headband assembly to the head of the user.

Systems and methods for augmenting a vertebral body. An introducer device includes a shaft having a flexible distal portion with a pre-set curve in an unconstrained state. An input provided to an actuator to tension a pulling element to move the pre-set curve to a constrained state in which the distal portion and a flexible sheath conforming to the shaft at least partially straighten. The introducer device is removable from the sheath remaining offset from a longitudinal axis. A spacer hub facilitates proximal movement of the sheath relative to an access cannula expose a balloon through a syringe-style input. A hub of the access cannula may be adjustable to selectively adjust an interference surface relative to a datum. At least two radiopaque markers may be disposed on the sheath with relative positions between the markers viewable on lateral and A-P radiography to determine the location and/or curvature of the sheath.

A personal protection system including a surgical garment that may be mounted to a helmet including an electrically powered assembly, such as a fan. The garment includes a shell adapted for being disposed over the helmet of the personal protection system. The garment also includes a transparent face shield coupled to the shell and an indicia, the indicia being an optically perceivable marking on the garment. The garment may also include a memory, the memory for storing data for regulating the operation of the electrically powered assembly mounted to the helmet. The helmet may also include a sensor for detecting the indicia to selectively allow the actuation of the electrically powered assembly based on the presence or absence of the indicia being positioned adjacent the sensor.

A head unit system for a head of a user, including a headpiece including a support structure shaped to be worn over the head. A shield mount attached to the support structure is arranged for supporting a face shield adjacent to the head. A headpiece connector is attached to the support structure and has a headpiece contact configured for electrical connection. A peripheral device provided for being secured to the headpiece for concurrent movement, the peripheral device having a device connector with a device contact configured for electrical connection. The device connector and the headpiece connector cooperate to releasably attach the peripheral device to the headpiece in a secured configuration with the respective headpiece contact and the device contact abutting in the secured configuration so as to facilitate electrical connection between the headpiece and the peripheral device.

A surgical helmet assembly () to be worn by a user during surgical operations. The surgical helmet assembly includes a frame assembly () having a helmet shell () to be worn over the user's head. A fan () is coupled to the helmet shell to circulate air around the helmet shell. A headband assembly () is coupled to the helmet shell to secure the surgical helmet assembly to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly further includes an adjustment assembly () to adjust a sagittal fit of the helmet shell and the headband assembly to the head of the user while keeping a center of mass of the frame assembly in close proximity to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly further includes another adjustment assembly () concentric to the first adjustment assembly to adjust a circumferential fit of the headband assembly to the head of the user.

A medical garment for use with a helmet, wherein the garment comprises a shell and a transparent face shield configured to define a barrier between the wearer and the environment. The transparent face shield may comprise a tab configured to be at least partially disposed within an alignment channel of the helmet when the medical garment is attached to the helmet to orient the shell relative to the helmet. The tab may also be separate from the transparent face shield and disposed on the shell of the medical garment. The transparent face shield may also comprise an attachment element configured to removably couple with a coupling member of the helmet, wherein the attachment element and coupling member comprise complementary coupling surfaces.

Surgical apparel system

A personal protection system including a surgical garment that may be mounted to a helmet including an electrically powered assembly, such as a fan. The garment includes a shell adapted for being disposed over the helmet of the personal protection system. The garment also includes a transparent face shield coupled to the shell and positioned so that, when the garment is disposed over the helmet, the face shield is located in front of the face of the individual. The garment may includes two fastening features spaced apart from one another for releasably securing the shell to the helmet and a conductor that extends between the two fastening features.

A surgical garment for use with a helmet, wherein the garment comprises a shell, a transparent face shield, and an attachment element coupled to the transparent face shield. The garment may be configured to define a barrier between the wearer and the environment. The attachment element configured to removably couple with a coupling member of the helmet, wherein the attachment element and coupling member comprise complementary coupling surfaces. The attachment element comprises a head having a distal surface and a proximal surface, and defining a coupling recess, the coupling recess is defined in the proximal surface of the head. The garment may comprise a first and second attachment element, with the first attachment element being coupled to upper portion of the transparent face shield and the second attachment element being coupled to lower portion of the transparent face shield.

Systems and methods for augmenting a vertebral body may include an optional access cannula, introducer device, and a stylet having a stylet shaft. The access cannula includes a hub portion and a cannula shaft extending from the cannula hub. The cannula shaft includes a distal end positionable within the vertebral body that defines a lumen along a longitudinal axis. The introducer device may be a telescoping or pivoting introducer device that is removably coupled to the hub portion of the access cannula. The introducer device controls the movement of the flexible distal portion of the stylet shaft and the flexible sheath from within the introducer device through the access cannula to within a target site in the vertebral body, wherein the flexible distal portion is moved from the constrained to the unconstrained state to displace cancellous bone within the target site.
