Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for autonomous vehicles. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include detecting, at an autonomous vehicle, at least one vehicle within a certain range of the autonomous vehicle; measuring a latency representative of a time to communicate via a wireless link to the at least one detected vehicle; reporting the measured latency to the network; and receiving, by the autonomous vehicle, information to enable the autonomous vehicle to determine an intervehicle distance for configuration at the autonomous vehicle. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

There are provided measures for configuration of radio communication in radio-assisted road traffic management scenarios. Such measures exemplarily comprise (for managing a predetermined area in a radio-assisted road traffic management scenario) detecting a specific road traffic condition in said predetermined area, and transmitting a configuration signaling instructing a configuration of at least one radio communication related parameter.

Configuration of radio communication in radio-assisted road traffic management scenarios

A mobile radio device uses its own location/position information to itself select a radio access resource from a plurality of radio access resources shared among a plurality of mobile radio devices; and sends a transmission on a wireless shared radio access channel using the selected radio access resource. In non-limiting embodiments: the location/position information represents global/absolute physical position, or a position relative to a local reference location within an access region which may be a cell, building, roadway, etc.; and the radio access resources are time slots; frequency blocks; and/or preambles. The examples have a map or algorithm stored in the device's local memory that associates different access resources to different discrete location areas within the access region; the algorithm identifies the location area that corresponds to the location/position information and outputs the selected access resource (or an index/identifier of it) associated with the identified location area.

Position information based access to a shared radio access channel

This document discloses a solution of interference coordination in wireless communication systems where a base station may request a specified load report from another base station. A first base station may store load information of terminal devices associated with the identifier of strongest interference source for each terminal device. The first base station may receive a load report request from a second base station. The first base station may respond to the second base station with a load report including load information of only terminal devices whose strongest interference source is the second base station. The second base station may receive the load report further and provide communication resources on the basis of the received load report.

Load information exchange for interference coordination

The disclosure relate to interference coordination in wireless communications. A first level station can obtain information for interference coordination with a second level station to protect the second level station from interference in arrangement where the second level station provides a smaller coverage area than the first level station and is at least partially located in the area of the first level station. Use of directional antenna beams by the first level station and/or communications by the second level station can then be controlled accordingly.

It is checked if a first CRE from a first cell is larger than 0 and if a second CRE from a second cell is larger than 0. If both the first and the second CRE are larger than 0, a first modified CRE is set based on the first CRE and a second modified CRE is set based on the second CRE. If the first CRE and/or the second CRE is equal to 0, the first modified CRE is set the first CRE and the second modified CRE is set to the second CRE. One of the first and second cell is selected for cell selection and/or handover based on a comparison of a sum of a signal strength indicator from the first cell and the first modified CRE and a sum of a signal strength indicator from the second cell and the second modified CRE.
