An asymmetric tread for a snow tire comprising a rubber composition, comprising a tread surface intended to be in contact with the ground when the tire is running, and comprising a sequence of basic patterns arranged in the circumferential direction, each extending over at least 80% of the width (W) of the tread, each comprising a plurality of raised elements provided with sipes opening onto the tread surface, each sipe having a width of less than 1 mm and a depth of at least 3 mm. For each basic pattern, a sipes orientation level (NO) is defined that corresponds to where i is the number of sipes in the pattern, li is the length of the isipe on the tread surface, P is the pitch of the basic pattern, Wm is the width of the basic pattern and &#x3b1;i is the positive or negative angle formed on the tread surface by the isipe with the transverse direction, where |&#x3b1;i|&#x2264;45 degrees, said orientation level being greater than or equal to 1.5 degrees/mm. The rubber composition comprises at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing inorganic filler, and a plasticizing system comprising a liquid plasticizing agent being a vegetable oil in a content B of between 10 and 60 phr.

Tread for a tire

The invention relates to a studded tire the tread of which comprises a first part in contact with the ground and a second part placed radially to the inside of the first part, and at least one stud protruding from the tread, and the head of the stud being entirely anchored in the second part of the tread, in which the complex modulus G*(0&#xb0; C.) of the rubber composition forming the first part of the tread is less than 1.5 MPa and in which the complex modulus G* of the rubber composition forming the second part of the tread varies with temperature such that G*(5&#xb0; C.) is equal to or greater than 5 MPa and G*(20&#xb0; C.) is less than or equal to 0.5 G*(5&#xb0; C.).

Studded tire

A tire, the tread of which comprises a rubber composition comprising at least a diene elastomer, such as for example, an SBR or BR elastomer, a thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizate of EPDM and polypropylene, at a content preferably of greater than 5 phr, and a reinforcing filler, such as silica and/or carbon black. Such a composition confers, on the tire, an improvement in the wet grip.

Tire of which the tread comprises a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) elastomer

The present invention relates to a tire, the tread of which comprises an elastomer composition comprising: from 10 to 60 phr of a polybutadiene (BR) elastomer; from 10 to 60 phr of a saturated thermoplastic styrene (TPS) elastomer; a reinforcing filler. The combined use of BR and saturated TPS elastomers makes it possible to increase the stiffness and thus to improve the handling performance of the tires, without adversely affecting the hysteresis and therefore the rolling resistance of these tires.
