A composition including a lubricant based on polyol esters (POEs) or PVE and a refrigerant F including from 1 to 99% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans-HFO-1234ze) and from 1 to 99% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane. Also, the use of the composition including a lubricant and refrigerant in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

Composition based on 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene

The invention relates to a method for cooling or heating a fluid or a body by means of a vapour compression circuit containing a heat transfer fluid, said circuit being at least partially contained in an enclosure, and the relative humidity of the air in the enclosure being less than or equal to a threshold value Hwhich is less than 50%, the flammability of the heat transfer fluid at relative humidity Hbeing less than the flammability of the heat transfer fluid at 50% relative humidity. The invention also relates to a cooling or heating installation suited to the implementation of this method. The invention also relates to a method of protection against the risks of fire or explosion in an enclosure containing at least partially a vapour compression circuit containing a heat transfer fluid, as well as a method for reducing the GWP of a transfer fluid. The invention also relates to heat transfer fluids suited to the implementation of the above methods.

Heat-transfer fluids having reduced flammability

A stable composition (CS) including at least x wt.-% 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (99.8 &#xff; x&#x3c;100), at most y wt.-% unsaturated compound(s) (Ia) (0&#x3c;y &#xff; 0.2) selected from among 3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HFO-1243zf) and the positional isomers of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, such as 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (isomers Z and E) and 1,1,2,3-tetrafluoropropene, and, optionally, at most 500 ppm of 3,3,3-trifluoropropyne and/or at most 200 ppm 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropene (HFO-1225ye).

Stable 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene composition

The subject of the present application is a composition comprising a lubricant based on polyol esters (POEs) or PVE and a refrigerant F comprising from 1 to 99% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans-HFO-1234ze) and from 1 to 99% by weight of 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoroethane. The subject of the present application is also the use of said composition in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

Composition based on 1,3,3,3,-tetrafluoropropene

Refrigerant fluids that can be used in different types of compression systems. A composition including between 36 and 39 wt. % of difluromethane (HFC-32), between 28 and 32 wt. % of pentafluoroethane (HFC-125), and between 31 and 35 wt. % of tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a). The composition may be used as a replacement for R-404A.

Composition comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene

The present invention relates to a continuous process for the fluorination of perchloroethylene (PER) in the gas phase in a single stage with hydrofluoric acid (HF) in the presence of a catalyst to give, as major product, pentafluoroethane. The process is characterized in that it is carried out at a temperature of between 280 and 430&#xb0; C. and with an HF/PER molar ratio of greater than or equal to 20.

Process for the manufacture of pentafluoroethane

A process for the activation of a fluorination catalyst in which a catalyst precursor compound, supported or unsupported is first dried and thereafter activated by exposure to an activating agent at a pressure greater that about 100 psig and a temperature grater than about 100&#xb0; C. The process is particularly suited to the activation of chromium (III) compounds, such as CrO. The resulted dry, high-pressure activated catalyst was found to provide increase fluorination conversion, with higher selectivity of the desired product.
