An arrangement for current limitation which is suitable for integration in a power supply serving network and which has a superconductive conductor, which is attached to at least one plate like support composed of insulation material. On the at least one support three separate from each other superconductive conductors in spiral form windings parallel to each other running to a separate connection is arranged on the phases of a three phase alternating current network. The support equipped with the phase conductors is built in to a container constructed as a cryostat.

Arrangement for current limitation which is suitable for integration into a power supply serving network

A method for transmitting electrical energy is proposed in which between two electrical units electrical current is transmitted by means of a superconductive cable system (). The two ends of the superconductive cable system () are each connected in a current conducting manner to one of the electrical units. A normally conductive cable system. () is arranged parallel to the superconductive cable system (). The function of the superconductive cable system () is monitored by a control unit (). During normal operation. only one end of the normally conductive cable system () is connected in a voltage conducting manner to one of the electrical units. In case of a malfunction of the superconductive cable system (), a first signal () of the control unit () initially connects the other end of the normally conductive cable system () to the other electrical unit, so that the normally conductive cable system () becomes current conducting, and the superconductive cable system () is subsequently switched off by at least one of the electrical units.

Method of transmitting electrical energy

A method of cooling at least one superconductive cable is disclosed which is arranged in a cryostat having at least one thermally insulated pipe with a free space surrounded by the pipe, wherein the cable and at least one tubular structure are arranged in the free space, and wherein a cooling agent is conducted through the free space from a feeding point located at one end to a distal end. The cooling agent is conducted through the cryostat and the tubular structure exclusively in one direction of the cable until it reaches its temperature of operation and is discharged to the outside at the distal end. After reaching the temperature of operation, the cooling agent is returned from the distal end of the arrangement through the tubular structure to the feeding point.

Method of cooling a superconductive cable

An arrangement is provided with three superconductive phase conductors each with a conductor, a dielectric and an electrically conductive screen surrounding the dielectric. The three phase conductors are arranged in a cryostat which conducts a cooling agent and which is made from a pipe with a thermal insulation. The screens of each of the conductors are for forming three, or a whole number multiple of three, sections arranged successively in the longitudinal direction by partial screens in a first, a second and a third section at two locations or at two locations spaced apart from each other. The partial screen of a first section of each phase conductor is electrically conductively connected in series to the partial screens of the second section and further to the third section of the two other phase conductors.

Arrangement with three superconductive phase conductors

A transmission system is provided with a superconductive cable having three phase conductors and a cryostat, surrounding the phase conductors, and encasing a hollow space, for conducting a cooling agent. For the three phase conductors, a common neutral conductor is provided, being made of electrically normally conducting material, carried out as insulating round conductor and placed outside the cryostat and next to it. The cryostat is made of a circumferentially enclosed, thermally insulated sheath.

Transmission system with a superconducting cable

A system with a three phase superconductive electrical transmission element is indicated, in which three superconductive electrical phase conductors are arranged insulated relative to each other and concentrically relative to each other, and in which a thermally insulated tubular cryostat is arranged which has a free space for conducting a cooling medium therethrough. The transmission element has at least two identically constructed cables (KK), each of which has three electrical phase conductors (LLL) which are insulated relative to each other and arranged concentrically relative to each other. The phase conductors (LLL) of the two cables (KK) are electrically switched in parallel in such a way that always one phase conductor of the one cable is connected to the phase conductor of the other cable.

System with a three phase superconductive electrical transmission element

An arrangement with at least one superconductive cable () is indicated which is arranged in a cryostat (KR) serving for guiding a cooling agent, wherein the cryostat (KR) includes at least one thermally insulated metal pipe. To the outside of the cryostat (KR) is applied an electrically well conductive material that is composed of at least two strands () which are wound one around the other with oppositely pitched direction around the cryostat (KR). The strands are connected fixedly and immovably to the cryostat (KR) at fixed points () mounted longitudinally spaced along an axial length of said cryostat.
