An ophthalmological laser therapy positioning device which facilitates accurate positioning of the laser therapy system vis-à-vis the patient's eye. The positioning device includes a first and a second recording unit, which provide recording data from different recording directions, a displacement unit that displaces the relative position of the eye vis-à-vis an optical opening of the laser therapy system on the basis of control commands, and a control unit that generates control commands on the basis of the recording data. The positioning device furthermore may include a display unit for displaying the recording data and an input unit for inputting input data, the control unit in this case generates control commands on the basis of the recording data and/or on the basis of the input data and to provide the control commands to the displacement unit. Corresponding positioning methods are also included.

Positioning device

A lens element and a one-piece contact apparatus having a lens element and a holding device for fixing a patient's eye to a laser applicator of an ophthalmological laser therapy system and a corresponding production method. The production method is conceptually simple and user-friendly and allows a high degree of automation while at the same time meeting the high requirements for mechanical and optical precision of the lens element. The lens element has an optically effective zone and a joining zone. The joining zone also has a functional zone for joining the lens element to a holding device which is arranged continuously circumferentially or interrupted circumferentially at the outer edge of the lens element. The contact apparatus includes a lens element and a holding device, which are permanently connected to one another, wherein the lens element and the holding device are not connected to one another by adhesive-bonding.

Lens element and contact apparatus for an ophthalmological laser therapy system

An illumination system for producing a spatially distributed illumination pattern for measuring the cornea of an eye and, in particular, for determining the topography of the eye. In so doing, the system facilitates distance-independent measurements. The illumination system includes an illumination unit, an optical element for collimating the illumination light and a unit for producing a spatially distributed illumination pattern in the form of a fraxicon. In particular, the illumination unit includes a plurality of illumination modules which are arranged such that each illumination module illuminates part of the fraxicon, and consequently a full-area illumination is facilitated. The system for producing a spatially distributed illumination pattern serves to determine the topography of the cornea of an eye. Here, the system is designed as a compact module, and so it can be easily combined with other measurement systems, without interfering with the beam paths thereof.

Illuminating system for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye

The invention relates to an optical assembly for scanning excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation in a laser scanning microscope. The optical assembly according to the invention is characterized in that in addition to a first and a second focusing device, a third focusing device is provided in order to generate a third pupil plane which is optically conjugated to a first pupil plane, a third beam deflecting device is arranged on the third pupil plane in order to deflect the excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation, a first beam deflecting means is provided between the second focusing device and the second pupil plane and the second pupil plane and the third focusing device in order to deflect the excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation coming from the third focusing device while bypassing the second beam deflecting device in the direction of the second focusing device, a fourth focusing device is provided for generating a fourth pupil plane which is optically conjugated to the third pupil plane, and a variable second beam deflecting means is arranged on the fourth pupil plane in order to switch an optical beam path between a first beam path and a second beam path. The invention additionally relates to a laser scanning microscope.

An optical assembly for scanning excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation in a laser scanning microscope. The assembly an optical scanning unit as a first focusing device for providing a first pupil plane, a first beam deflecting device, which is made of a first scanner arranged in the first pupil plane, for scanning the excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation in a first coordinate direction, and a second focusing device for generating a second pupil plane, which is optically conjugated to the first pupil plane. A second beam deflecting device is provided for deflecting the excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation, said second deflecting device being arranged in the second pupil plane. A third focusing device is provided in order to generate a third pupil plane, optically conjugated to the first pupil plane. A third beam deflecting device is arranged in the third pupil plane in order to deflect the excitation radiation and/or manipulation radiation, and a variable beam deflecting means is provided in order to switch an optical beam path between a first beam path and a second beam path.

An illumination system for producing an illumination pattern for measuring the cornea of an eye and, in particular, for determining the topography thereof and in so doing facilitating distance-independent measurements. The illumination system according to the invention for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye includes an illumination unit and a unit for producing an illumination pattern, wherein the illumination unit includes a plurality of illumination modules. A lens array which produces a spatially distributed, collimated illumination pattern is used as a unit for producing an illumination pattern. The illumination system produces an illumination pattern, by which the topography of the cornea of an eye can be determined. Here, the illumination system is designed as a compact module, and so it can be easily combined with other measurement systems, without colliding with the beam paths thereof.

A light-scanning microscope including a scan optics for generating a pupil plane conjugate to the pupil plane of the microscope objective, and a variably adjustable beam deflection unit in the conjugate pupil plane. An intermediate image lies between the microscope objective and the scan optics. The scan optics image a second intermediate image (Zb) into the first intermediate image via the beam deflection unit, wherein the second intermediate image is spatially curved. The deflection unit is not arranged in a collimated section of the beam path, but is instead arranged in a convergent section. Then, in terms of the optical properties and quality thereof, the scan optics needs rather to correspond merely to an eyepiece instead of a conventional scanner objective.

Light-scanning microscope with simplified optical system, more particularly with variable pupil position

An ophthalmological laser therapy device including a laser system, an x-y scanner, collecting optics and a z-scanner. The invention also relates to a method for processing a tissue of an eye by a therapeutic laser beam of an ophthalmological laser therapy device. The invention provides an ophthalmological laser therapy device and a corresponding method which permit, with minimal engineering complexity, a very quick positioning of the laser spot in a large volume region, in particular in a large x-y region perpendicular to the optical axis. The problem is also solved by a method for processing a tissue of the eye or a material located in an eye using an ophthalmological laser therapy device, wherein each sub-section of the tissue of the eye is processed using a corresponding positioning or the device for the adjustable redirecting of the laser beam in an image field of the collection optics.

Ophthalmological laser therapy device

Beam deflection units in light-scanning microscopes are usually arranged in planes that are conjugate to the objective pupil. The scan optics, which is required for generating the conjugate pupil planes, is complicated and not very light efficient. The invention is intended to enable a higher image quality, simpler adjustment and a lower light loss microscope. The optical system comprises a concave mirror () for imaging a respective point of the first and second beam deflection units (A,B) onto one another. The concave mirror (), the first beam deflection unit (A), and the second beam deflection unit (B) are arranged such that the illumination beam path is reflected exactly once at the concave mirror (). A first distortion caused by the concave mirror () and a second distortion of the imaging caused by the first and second beam deflection units (A,B) at least partly compensate for one another.
