A circuit breaker with improved trip unit fixation is disclosed. Another circuit breaker and a system also perform the functions of the circuit breaker. A circuit breaker includes a frame and a trip unit mounted in the frame. The trip unit includes a terminal for securing a wire to the trip unit. One of a wall of the frame and the trip unit include a protrusion and the wall of the frame or the trip unit without the protrusion includes an opening. The protrusion conforms to the opening and the protrusion and opening are positioned to oppose movement of the trip unit in a direction of a force resulting from securing the wire in the terminal.

Trip unit fixation in a circuit breaker

A circuit interrupting device is provided. In some configurations, the circuit interrupting device includes a base and an arc chamber assembly received within the base. The arc chamber assembly includes an arc chamber framework and a plurality of splitter plates received within the arc chamber framework. The arc chamber framework includes a first plurality of protrusions and a second plurality of protrusions that laterally extend in a direction toward one another. Adjacent pairs of the first plurality of protrusions and the second plurality of protrusions are arranged on opposing sides of each of the plurality of splitter plates.

Arc chamber venting

The present disclosure describes an apparatus and method for quenching the arc developed during the interruption of a current carrying path by use of an arc quenching apparatus with a contiguous chamber that shapes and directs the gas pressure and other associated arc components through a set of splitter plates located at the ends of the chamber. The contiguous chamber contains the gas pressure and other associated arc components for the duration of the quenching process.

Arc chamber assembly and method

Systems and methods provide a magnetic actuator having more than one air gap. After the trip unit is triggered, a first armature is accelerated to quickly close a first air gap and then mate with a second armature. The first and second armature then move toward a core to close a second air gap and reach the final combined armature position, causing a contact to open. A faster reaction time is provided, yet without increasing the number of turns of the trip coil winding, and provides a more efficient actuator.

Magnetic actuator with more than one air gap in series

A system comprising a magnetic actuator, a current transformer and operational electronics in a dual-coil circuit breaker. The system includes an inline, but non concentric, implementation of the primary and secondary coils to maintain a narrow width suitable for retrofitting in standard industrial rack mounted enclosures. The system further comprises an I-shaped lamination stack that is designed to abut on the ends of an upper and lower plate of the current transformer. The I-shaped lamination stack significantly increases the overlap between the lamination and the upper and lower plates, which results in lower magnetic reluctance and improves magnetic coupling.

Magnetic core coupling in a current transformer with integrated magnetic actuator

A system comprising a magnetic actuator, a current transformer and operational electronics in a dual-coil circuit breaker. The system includes an inline, but non concentric, implementation of the primary and secondary coils to maintain a narrow width suitable for retrofitting in standard industrial rack mounted enclosures. The system further comprises a split core design that is integrated into an upper and lower plate which slide together and are retained by a secondary coil bobbin. Typically, the two parts of the split core can be manufactured into net shapes by utilizing a powder metal or metal injection molding process. Moreover, the split core design disclosed herein can reduce costs and time associated with manufacturing and assembly of the current transformer.

Cost effective design for a current transformer with an integrated magnetic actuator

A system comprising a magnetic actuator, a current transformer and operational electronics in a dual-coil circuit breaker. The system includes an inline implementation of the primary and secondary coils to maintain a narrow width suitable for retrofitting in currently designed industrial rack mounted enclosures. The system further comprises network connectivity allowing interrogation of the components for operational data associated with the component.

Current transformer with integrated actuator

A device and use method for ejecting a liquid stream towards an eye, the stream moving from a proximal position towards a distal position, the device comprising a) a housing, b) a container for the liquid, c) at least one opening arranged for ejection of the stream and being in fluid communication with the container, d) a pump mechanism operable to deliver at least part of the liquid from the container through the opening to form the stream and e) an eyecup with a contact surface arranged for contact with the eye or its facial surroundings. The eyecup is arranged movable with respect to the opening or housing between at least two positions i) an active position with said eyecup contact surface at a defined safety distance to the opening and ii) a rest position with the eyecup contact surface at a position more proximal than in the active position and a sensor is arranged to allow discrimination between the positions. The pump mechanism may include a pump driver able to store cocked energy for driving the pump mechanism and at least one activation mechanism may be present and operable to initiate the device for the liquid delivery, whereby a driving mechanism is arranged to transform manual or stored energy both i) into cocked energy of the pump driver and ii) into direct or stored energy for operation of the activation mechanism.
