A cut and strip machine () for producing cable-sections by processing a passing cable, especially coaxial or optical cable (). Cable-sections are cut off from the cable, and on both ends of each cable-section at least one insulating layer can be notched/cut and stripped off. The machine comprises at least one cable feeding device (), and a cable processing unit, preferably cutting unit () arranged adjustably transverse to a cable axis, as well as a first cable guiding unit arranged&#x2014;in a feeding direction () of the cable ()&#x2014;in front of said cable processing unit (). A second cable guiding unit is arranged behind said cable processing unit (). These first and second cable guiding units may be formed as fixed, non-rotating first and second cable centering units (). These are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the cable processing unit (), and are suitable for centering, preferably straight-line centering, of the cable () on both its sides. At least one of the cable centering units () can be adjusted transversely to the cable axis for effecting its adjustment to the current diameter of the cable to be processed.

Cut and strip machine for producing cable-sections

A continuous cable processing apparatus for producing cable sections with processed ends comprises a cable transport apparatus having at least one transporter for moving and holding the cable in the axial direction and, transversely thereto, a processing station. According to a special variant, two transporters are arranged in the longitudinal cable direction on both sides of the processing station and, after the cable has been cut through, each hold one of the cable end regions produced on cutting, so that the end regions are movable in the longitudinal cable direction. At least one of these end processing stations is arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction, adjacent to the processing station and at least one transporter is movable transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction so that a cable end region can be fed to the end processing station.

Continuous cable processing apparatus

Wire processing apparatus (). The apparatus () includes an electronic memory for storing values commensurate with the lengths from a terminal end of the wire () to the positions of cuts to be made through the plurality of coating layers (X,Y,Z), and a mechanical store for controlling the depths of each cut. Threaded shafts () are mounted upon a turret which is movable both rotationally and axially with respect to the wire being processed. The electronic memory is preferably adapted to receive inputs representing parameters of sequential steps in each of two processing operations, and to perform such operations alternately, upon different wire ends, upon successive actuation's of the apparatus (). A further feature of the apparatus is an arrangement permitting the force exerted on the wire () by a pair of gripping members () to remain substantially constant over a range of different wire diameters. A motor () is mechanically linked to the gripping members () to bring the gripping members to the wire-engaging position.

Semi-automatic wire processing apparatus

A continuous cable processing apparatus for producing cable sections with processed ends comprises a cable transport apparatus having at least one transport device for moving and holding the cable in the axial direction and, transversely thereto, a knife station. According to a special variant, two transport means are arranged in the longitudinal cable direction on both sides of the knife station and, after the cable has been cut through, each hold one of the cable end regions produced on cutting, so that the end regions are movable in the longitudinal cable direction. At least one of these end processing stations is arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction, adjacent to the knife station and at least one transport device is movable transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction so that a cable end region can be fed to the end processing station.

The invention relates to a method and a device for stripping a cable end section (,), comprising a novel measuring system in which the length of the inserted cable end section is determined during the insertion itself.
