A hybrid module includes a rotor carrier, a torque converter, and a thrust bushing. The rotor carrier includes an axially extending portion and a radially extending portion extending radially inward from the axially extending portion. The torque converter includes an impeller having an impeller shell fixed to the rotor carrier and an impeller hub fixed to the impeller shell. The impeller hub extends in an axial direction away from the radially extending portion of the rotor carrier to a distal end. The thrust bushing is connected to the impeller hub. The thrust bushing includes an axial portion in contact with the impeller hub and a radial portion extending radially outward from the axial portion. The radial portion is in contact with the distal end.

Hybrid module thrust bushing

A blade assembly for a torque converter includes a shell defining an inner surface and a plurality of blades arranged around the inner surface of the shell. The plurality of blades each include a curved portion contacting the inner surface. The plurality of blades each further include a curved region axially spaced from the respective curved portion. The plurality of blades each further include an end extending from the respective curved portion to the respective curved region. Each end includes a notch arranged radially closer to the respective curved region than to the respective curved portion.

Torque converter blade assembly

An apparatus and methods for a double coast engagement diaphragm spring for a torque converter are provided. The double coast engagement diaphragm spring includes first and second coast engagement diaphragm springs. The first coast engagement diaphragm spring exerts a first, continuous axial thrust onto a turbine comprising the torque converter. The second coast engagement diaphragm spring applies a second axial thrust onto the turbine only during coasting conditions. A drive flange includes ramps for engaging the second coast engagement diaphragm spring during coasting conditions and causing the second coast engagement diaphragm spring to apply the second axial thrust onto the turbine. A retainer plate disengages the second coast engagement diaphragm spring during drive conditions. A spacer ring between the first coast engagement diaphragm spring and the second coast engagement diaphragm spring causes the first and second coast engagement diaphragm springs to operate in series.
