A method and apparatus for controlling an agricultural harvesting campaign is disclosed in which predetermined harvesting activities are processed within a campaign timeline by a plurality of agricultural working machines of a machine fleet on a field allotment assigned to the harvesting campaign. The control of the harvesting campaign is executed on different application levels by continuously generating information, wherein the generated information is continuously provided to all of the application levels, and the generated data comprise remotely-sensed field information.

System and method for controlling an agricultural harvesting campaign

A self-propelled forage harvester is disclosed. The forage harvester includes a feed device, a chopping device comprising a cutterhead equipped with cutting blades and a shear bar for comminuting harvested material, a drive, and a driver assistance system for controlling at least the chopping device. The driver assistance system includes a memory for saving data and a computing device for processing the data saved in the memory, wherein the chopping device and the driver assistance system in combination form an automatic chopping system in that the computing device continuously determines a compaction of the comminuted harvested material using harvested material parameters during a harvesting process in order to autonomously ascertain and specify a cutting length to be adapted for maintaining nearly constant compactability.

A harvesting system or device formed with an agricultural harvesting machine having a crop transfer device that that swivels about a swivel angle (&#x3c6;) for transferring crop and allows for setting a setpoint swivel angle (&#x3c6;) for discharging the crop, and a hauling vehicle that receives the crop. The crop that is discharged from the agricultural harvesting machine impacts the hauling vehicle at an adjustable impact point. If the deflection of the transfer device deviates from the setpoint swivel angle (&#x3c6;), a return of the transfer device to the setpoint swivel angle (&#x3c6;) is regulated by changing the ground speed (V) of the agricultural harvesting machine, the ground speed (V) of the hauling vehicle or bother while maintaining a position of the impact point substantially unchanged.

A steering system for an agricultural vehicle has at least one steering cylinder for changing a steering angle of the agricultural vehicle, a hydraulic main steering valve for pressurizing the at least one steering cylinder, a steering transducer for actuating the main steering valve, a steering boost for controlling an adjustment characteristic between the steering transducer and the at least one steering cylinder and a sensor system for detecting an external signal of the agricultural vehicle.
