A needle unit () comprising: a needle hub () comprising a needle () and a needle shield (), wherein the needle hub () and the needle shield () are arranged to form a needle unit () where the needle hub is arranged displaceably inside the needle shield such that the needle hub is displaceable along an axis which is parallel with the longitudinal axis of the needle () between a shielded position and an exposed position. The needle hub () further comprises a first hub locking element () and a second hub locking element () and the needle shield () further comprises a first shield locking element () and a second shield locking element (), said first hub locking element () and said first shield locking element () engaging each other in the shielded position to establish a first releasable locking mechanism () between the needle hub () and the needle shield (), said second hub locking element () and said second shield locking element () engaging each other in the shielded position to establish a second locking mechanism () between the needle hub () and the needle shield (), both the first and second locking mechanisms () being arranged as shock proof locks, and where the first releasable lock mechanism () is arranged to engage with the lock release element () of the injection device () when the needle unit () is coupled to the injection device, said engagement allowing the first releasable lock mechanism () to be unlocked. The invention further provides an injection device comprising the needle unit and a method of assembling an injection device with the needle unit.

An autoinjector () for expelling a single dose of drug from a drug cartridge () including a piston (), the autoinjector including: a base (), a needle () that is fixedly mounted relative to the base (), a plunger () adapted for cooperation with the piston (), an actuating spring () provided as a helical compression spring arranged to act on the plunger () by exerting an axial force on the plunger to drive the piston () distally, and a needle shield () axially movable relative to the base () between an extended position and a collapsed position. The autoinjector defines a lock () that is released when the needle shield () is moved from the extended position to the collapsed position. The lock () releases to enable relative rotation between plunger thread () and base thread () causing release of the plunger () from the initial axial position and expelling the dose of the drug.

An injection device for expelling a dose of drug from a held cartridge () is described. A needle shield () is axially movable relative to a base () between a proximal collapsed position and a distal extended position. A needle shield lock comprises a deflectable lock element () operable to prevent the needle shield () from being moved towards the proximal collapsed position. A lock activator () associated with a plunger () exerts an activation force on the deflectable lock element when the plunger assumes a final position. A biasing means () is arranged to act between the lock activator () and the deflectable lock element (), the biasing means () being configured to resiliency transfer the activation force from the lock activator () to the deflectable lock element () to enable the needle shield () to become locked in the distal extended position but only when the plunger () assumes the final position.

The present invention relates to an injection device () for setting and injecting set doses from a held drug cartridge (). The injection device () comprises a housing (), a piston rod (), a rotatable driver () and a dose setting device (). The dose setting device () comprises a predetermined stop to limit the amount of an expelled dose corresponding to the amount of a set dose. A secondary stop limiter includes first () and second () components and a secondary stop track follower () arranged between the first () and second () components. If the predetermined stop fails to stop the driver () at the end of injection, the secondary stop track follower () moves towards a safety stop () to prevent the driver () from rotating further.

The present invention relates to an injection device () for setting and injecting set doses from a held drug cartridge (). The injection device () comprises a housing (), a piston rod (), a rotatable driver () and a dose control member (). A stored energy source () is configured to drive rotation of the driver () to cause the piston rod () to expel a set dose. The dose control member () rotates during dose setting and during dose expelling. A first clutch (C) is arranged between the dose control member () and the driver (). A second clutch (C) is arranged between the driver () and the housing () to control the expelling movement. During dose setting the first clutch (C) is disengaged and the second clutch (C) is engaged. During dose expelling the first clutch (C) is engaged and the second clutch (C) is disengaged.

Medical injection device

The present invention relates to a medical injection system comprising a medical injection device () of the type comprising a rotatable dose setting member (). The system further comprises a dose limiter module () adapted for being releasably coupled to the injection device (). The dose limiter module () comprises a dose limiter base () and a limiter () arranged relative to the dose limiter base () so that their relative position is adjustable to set an adjusted dose limiting position. When the dose limiter module () is coupled to the injection device (), the limiter () cooperates with the dose setting member () to define a blocking means for preventing rotation of the dose setting member () beyond the adjusted dose limiting position. The dose limiter module () further comprises a user operable lock () configured for operation between a locked state and an unlocked state to respectively prevent and enable modification of the adjusted dose limiting position, the lock () being configured for maintaining the lock in the locked state at least when the dose limiter module () is not coupled with the injection device ().
