A connector for connecting two supporting rods of a spinal column supporting device, which rods are placed or are to be placed along a portion of spinal column. The connector includes a transverse rod, a first coupling that couples the transverse rod to a first one of the supporting rods and a second coupling that couples the transverse rod to the second one of the supporting rods. At least one of the couplings has a clamping region that clamps the supporting rod with a clamping force and a force application component for generating an axial force that produces the clamping force, in particular in the form of an axial tensioning screw, the axial force being caused by screwing in of the screw, and the axial force being directed through the transverse rod.

Connector for spinal column support

A connection device for connecting an end region of an already implanted first spinal column support, at which pedicle screws are coupled on their head side to a first connection rod by respective coupling devices, to an already or not yet implanted spinal column support portion having a pedicle screw and extending the first spinal column support, having a first fastening arrangement for fastening the connection device to the first connection rod and a coupling for the extending support portion, in particular a second rod to be coupled to the pedicle screw of the extending support portion or a second fastening arrangement for fastening the connection device to such a second rod, further having a rigid bridge, laterally clinging to the coupling device of the closest pedicle screw of the first spinal column support on the connection side, of an intermediate region between the first fastening arrangement and the coupling.

Spinal column implant connection device

An instrument set for connecting vertebral bodies, comprising a screw which can be screwed into a pedicle, a head piece which can be connected polyaxially to the screw for coupling to a rod system and which has a sleeve-shaped tulip having an opening for insertion of the screw head in an insertion direction, and a tool, is developed. The head piece has a saddle in the tulip, with a receiving region for receiving the screw head in a first end region that faces the opening and a coupling region that can be coupled to the tool in a second end region opposite the receiving region. The saddle can be moved between a released position and a locked position. In the locked position, the screw head cannot be disengaged from the receiving region, and the saddle can be fixed in a released position.
