The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for securely verifying an identity of a user of a client device based on a signal transmitted by the client device. For example, systems disclosed herein include registering a client device and facility device via a cloud computing system to enable the client device and facility device to securely communicate a signal via a wireless connection. The systems disclosed herein additionally include determining whether a trigger condition applies based on a position of the client device relative to the facility device. The systems disclosed herein further include maintaining and updating a subset of user verification information to include personal verification of a registered user of the client device. Using the subset of user verification information, a biometric scanning device may efficiently and accurately verify an identity of an individual associated with the client device.

Secure verification of an individual using wireless broadcasts

Technology related to an activity feed service is disclosed. In one example of the disclosed technology, a method can include receiving updates to activity streams, where a respective activity stream indicates an engagement of a respective user with applications executing on a respective client device connected to a network. The different activity streams associated with a particular user can be merged to generate a merged activity stream associated with the particular user. The different received activity streams can correspond to different respective client devices. The merged activity stream associated with the particular user can be transmitted over the network.

Activity feed service

Retrieving content items based on a social distance between a user and content providers. The social distance is determined based on, for example, user interaction with the content providers. The content providers are ranked, for the user, based on the determined social distance. Prior to a request from the user, the content items are pre-fetched based on the ranked content providers and constraints such as storage space, bandwidth, and battery power level of a computing device of the user. In some embodiments, additional content items are retrieved, or retrieved content items are deleted, as a variable-size cache on the computing device fills or changes size.

Pre-fetching content items based on social distance

Technologies for performing positive and negative event-based testing of systems such as software and the like. Such technologies may be applied to any type of system for which activities and state changes and the like can be monitored. Event monitors are typically established to monitor each type of event of interest, including negative events. Such event monitors detect corresponding system activity, state changes, and the like and describe such as events that are placed in an event queue. The present invention provides technologies and methods for comparing these events to expected events, thus enabling positive testing. Such expected events may be expected to occur sequentially (one after another in a specified order) or in parallel (multiple events wherein the order of the events is irrelevant) or any combination of the two. Further, unexpected events are noted as well, thus enabling negative testing.
