Described are techniques for handwriting authentication. The techniques include defining handwriting characteristics for a user based on a set of handwriting authentication criteria. The techniques further include receiving, from a graphical user interface (GUI) of a user device associated with the user, a handwritten phrase. The techniques further include determining that the handwritten phrase satisfies a comparison threshold to the handwriting characteristics and authenticating the user device.

A computer-implemented method, a computer system and a computer program product enhance machine translation of a document. The method includes capturing an image of the document. The document includes a plurality of characters that are arranged in a character layout. The method also includes classifying the image by a document type based on the character layout. The method further includes determining a strategy for an intelligent character recognition (ICR) algorithm with the image based on the character layout of the image. Lastly, the method includes generating a translated document by applying the intelligent character recognition (ICR) algorithm to the plurality of characters in the image using the strategy. The translated document includes a plurality of translated characters that are arranged in the character layout.

Enhancing machine translation of handwritten documents

A system includes a memory having instructions therein and at least one processor in communication with the memory. An expected cost for processing is determined for each of the documents in each of the set of processing engines. The objects are processed to determine facet values for the objects for a specified facet. A first visualization is generated of representations of the determined facet values for the objects. User selection is received of one of the facet values represented in the generated first visualization. A determination is made of objects having the user selected facet value and a determination is made of at least one facet value for the specified facet for each of the determined objects having the selected facet value. A second visualization of representations of the determined at least one facet value is generated.

Provided are techniques for providing and using pivot facets for text mining and search. A metadata field is mapped to a pivot facet. In response to executing a first query, at least a first document and the pivot facet are displayed. In response to selection of the pivot facet, a second query that includes a value of the metadata field is generated, and the second query is executed to locate at least a second document that includes the value of the metadata field.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for extracting and annotating text. Heuristics are applied to extracted text data in order to detect the readability of the text data. The text data is converted to an intermediate form. The transformed intermediate form is converted back to the original text format.
