A connector assembly including a connector housing having a plug-in portion and two primary latching arms arranged on opposite sides of the plug-in portion. Secondary locking means are connected to the connector housing and movable relative to the connector housing from an open position to a locked position. The locking means includes blocking arms configured to block a release movement of the latching arms when the locking means is in its locked position. The secondary locking means has two separate locking members each of which is connected to one of the primary latching arms to block a release movement of the assigned latching arm. Each of the two separate locking members is configured to be independently moveable between the open position and the locked position. Each locking member comprise actuating release handles to allow an un-latching of the actuating arms. The release handles are arranged adjacent to each other.

Connector assembly with dual secondary lock

A method for manufacturing a sealed electrical wire harness includes the steps of providing an equipped connector housing with electrical terminals inserted within the equipped connector housing and with electrical wires attached and electrically connected to the electrical terminals, providing an injection molding tool suitable for injecting sealing material, placing the equipped connector housing into the injection molding tool, closing the injection molding tool, filling the equipped connector housing with sealing material, thereby distributing the sealing material inside the equipped connector housing to a wire inlet portion, a connector position assurance holder portion, and an interface portion, and removing the sealed electrical wire harness from the injection molding tool.

Method of manufacturing sealed electrical connector

An sealed electrical connector includes a connector housing having a wire inlet portion, a connector position assurance holder portion, and an interface portion. An electrical terminal is located and electrically connected to an electrical wire inside an internal cavity that is located central inside the connector housing. The internal cavity extends into the interface portion. The electrical wire extends to outside the connector housing passing the wire inlet portion that is located between the internal cavity and the outside of the connector housing. The connector also includes a flexible sealing member that is configured to seal the internal cavity when the electrical connector is electrically connected to a mating counter connector and when a connector position assurance device is activated in the connector position assurance holder portion to mechanically lock the electrical connector to the counter connector. The flexible sealing member is made in one piece.

Sealed electrical connector and method of manufacturing same

The invention relates to a grounding clip for an airbag ignition system adapted to be mounted to an airbag retainer insert. The clip comprises a first grounding contact in form of a spring tongue adapted to contact a grounding contact of a squib connector and a second grounding contact adapted to contact an electroconductive part of an airbag squib. The clip comprises a flat base connecting the first and second grounding contacts with each other, wherein the spring tongue has a straight portion that extends perpendicular from the flat base and wherein the free end of the spring tongue comprises a bent portion that is not perpendicular to the base.

Grounding clip for an airbag ignition system

The invention relates to an electrical plug connector for a safety restraint system, preferably for an airbag ignition system, including at least two contact terminals disposed within the plug connector and a shorting clip, that is configured to short circuit the at least two contact terminals in an uncoupled or incorrectly coupled condition of the plug connector. The shorting clip includes at least two shorting tongues. Each shorting tongue is electrically connected with a respective contact terminal. Each shorting tongue further includes at least one electrical contact surface and at least one of the shorting tongues includes an actuating member. The actuating member is provided with an actuating surface that is configured to interact with a separator device. The contact surfaces are not arranged within the same plane as the actuating surface(s).

Electrical plug connector for a safety restraint system

The present invention relates to an electrical connector assembly comprising a plug connector and a spring operated secondary lock, being arranged movable on the plug connector housing between an open position and a locked position. The connector is further provided with tension springs, which are tensioned when the secondary lock is moved from the locked to the open position.
