A device includes a housing, a camera at least partially disposed within the housing, one or more microphones at least partially disposed within the housing, and a printed circuit board (PCB) including a switch. The switch has a lever that is transitionable between a displaced position and a non-displaced position. A privacy cover couple to the housing and includes a rib disposed on an interior surface of the privacy cover. The privacy cover is transitionable between a first position in which the camera is obstructed and the rib is engaged with the lever to transition the lever to the displaced position, and a second position in which the camera is unobstructed and the rib is disengaged with the lever such that the lever is permitted to transition to the non-displaced position.

Approaches are described for image signal processor day-night detection. An exemplary approach for a camera with an infrared light source involves determining a brightness value for image data based on an average luma value for the image data, determining white balance data for the first image data, and determining, based on the white balance data for the image data and white balance data for the infrared light source, a deviation value for the image data. A transition from night mode to day mode can be effected based on comparing the brightness value for the image data to a first threshold, and comparing the deviation value for the image data to a second threshold.

Techniques are generally described for highlight recovery for image sensors. In some examples, a first frame of image data comprising a first pixel may be received. The first pixel may include a value Cwhere c∈(R, G, B, IR). A white balance gained value Cmay be determined using C·WB, where WBrepresents a per-color channel white balance gain. A color-corrected value Cmay be determined based at least in part on Cand a color correction matrix. An interpolation coefficient α may be determined based at least in part on a clipped representation of the color-corrected value C. A second value Cmay be determined for the first pixel by interpolating between an unclipped representation of the first pixel and an unclipped representation of Cusing α.

Highlight recovery for image sensors

Techniques are generally described for color filter array interpolation of image data. A first frame of image data representing a plurality of pixels arranged in a grid may be received. A low pass filter may be used to generate a first luminance value for a first non-green pixel of the plurality of pixels. A first chrominance value of the first non-green pixel may be determined based at least in part on a combination of at least a chrominance value of a first green pixel located adjacent to the first non-green pixel and a chrominance value of a second green pixel located adjacent to the first non-green pixel. A second luminance value for the first non-green pixel may be determined based on a combination of the first chrominance value and the first luminance value. Output values for the first non-green pixel may be determined based at least in part on the second luminance value.
