A damper assembly includes a housing having a tubular shape defining a main chamber extending along a center axis. A piston is movable along the center axis and divides the main chamber into a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. The piston includes a piston body defining a frequency-adaptive orifice (FAO) passage providing fluid communication between the compression chamber and the rebound chamber. The piston includes an FAO valve assembly having an FAO cover member configured to block fluid flow therethrough in response to application of a low-frequency excitation, and allowing fluid flow through the FAO passage in response to application of a high-frequency excitation. The FAO valve assembly also includes a tappet configured to translate relative to the piston body to bias the FAO cover member to selectively cover the FAO passage in response to the application of the low-frequency excitation.

Damper assembly with frequency adaptive orifice

The present invention relates to a hydraulic damper, comprising a tube, a piston assembly comprising compression and rebound valve assemblies, and a controllable solenoid valve. The piston assembly further comprises a housing; first, second and third partition members; first, second, third and fourth check valves; and one or more radial channels; wherein said first partition member has a first axial opening and the solenoid valve has a valve member provided with at least one inlet in fluid communication with said first axial opening, and one or more outlets in fluid communication with said first internal chamber, wherein said second partition member has a second axial opening; wherein said first axial opening and said second axial opening allow the working liquid to flow from said third internal chamber to said at least one inlet of the solenoid valve bypassing said second internal chamber.

Variable stiffness hydraulic damper

The present invention relates to a hydraulic damper comprising a tube and a piston assembly provided with rebound valve assemblies and compression valve assemblies, wherein each valve assembly comprises a deflectable-disc valve and a blow-off valve. The piston assembly comprises two sleeve-shaped members each provided with a plurality of blow-off valve flow passages, a plurality of deflectable-disc valve flow passages, and a central opening, wherein the piston rod passes through said central openings to secure the piston assembly, a plurality of deflectable disc(s) of the deflectable-disc valve cover(s) said deflectable-disc valve flow passages , wherein a plurality of disc(s) of the blow-off valve adjoin(s) said blow-off valve flow passages, wherein the piston assembly further comprises two spring seats abutting said disc(s) of the blow-off valve, and at least one spring disposed within said internal chamber that biases said spring seats towards said number of discBP-S20010US(s).
