Aspects are directed to systems in which control node communicates through a peripheral-side wired communications bus for data communications with other bus-coupled nodes. The control node acts as a master with a main-circuit domain during an initialization mode and when the main-circuit domain is deactivated, and acts as a slave, after completion of the initialization mode and when the main-circuit domain is not deactivated. An isolation circuit is used to isolate the main-circuit domain from the control node and, while the main-circuit domain is deactivated, to facilitate communications over the peripheral-side wired communications bus between the control node and another node connected to the peripheral-side wired communications bus.

Examples disclosed herein relate to receiving a usage report from a printer, wherein the usage report comprises a count of pages printed and a time spent in a first power state; calculating a power consumption for the printer according to the usage report, and providing a report of historic power consumption.

According to examples, an apparatus may include a fusing component and a heater disposed in the fusing component. The heater may include a substrate having a first surface and a second surface, a first heating element having a first length attached to the first surface of the substrate, and a second heating element having a second length attached to the second surface of the substrate, the second length differing from the first length.

The replaceable printer component also includes a sensor engine to measure a property affected by the operation. An example printer includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium. The printer also includes a boot engine communicatively coupled to the non-transitory computer-readable medium. The boot engine is to load a boot image into a first portion of the non-transitory computer-readable medium. The boot image includes data from an operational state of an operating system. The printer includes a configuration engine. The configuration engine is to program a second portion of the non-transitory computer-readable medium while the boot engine is loading the boot image.

An example system includes a rectifying component to convert an alternating current (AC) signal into a direct current (DC) signal. The system also includes a filtering component. The filtering component determines that a plurality of AC cycle drops have occurred and will deactivate the AC signal in response to that determination. Furthermore, the system includes an isolating component. The isolating component consumes greater than a threshold level of power in one state and less than a threshold level of power in another state. The isolating component is operating in the state that consumes greater than a threshold level of power when the signal that indicates the AC voltage is at a level in which it may allow the device to operate safely and properly is deactivated.

In one example, an integrated circuit device for a replaceable printer component to communicate information about the component to a printer controller when a component with the integrated circuit device is installed in a printer. The integrated circuit device includes a controller, a memory operatively connected to the controller to store and/or generate information about the component, a single pair of conductors to supply power to the controller and to carry data signals to and from the controller, a detector to detect incoming data signals with a signal property associated with the component, and two electrical contacts each connected to one of the conductors to connect the integrated circuit device to a printer controller when a component with the integrated circuit device is installed in a printer.

In one example, an article for a replaceable printer component includes an integrated circuit device having a device controller, a conductor to supply power to the device controller and to carry a signal to and from the device controller, and a sensor operatively connected to the device controller to sense a voltage and/or a frequency on the conductor. In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a method for determining fusing energy per page based on an applied voltage is described. According to the method, a resistance of a fusing system is acquired and an input voltage of a fusing system is estimated. A duty ratio of the fusing system is measured and a fusing energy per processed page is then determined based on the input voltage, the fusing system resistance, and the duty ratio of the fusing system. A media weight is then determined based on the fusing energy per processed page.

A system includes a laser scanner system. The system includes a scanner laser to generate an optical scanning beam. The system also includes a spindle assembly comprising a spindle that extends along an axis and reflects the optical scanning beam. The system also includes a beam detector to receive the reflected optical scanning beam from the single facet and to indicate when to generate a latent image corresponding to an image based on the optical scanning beam for a given scan operation. The system further includes a scan controller to control the scanner laser such that the optical scanning beam is reflected from only a single facet of the spindle during the given scan operation.

A heater is configured to heat the waste toner in a manner sufficient to liquefy the waste toner within the nozzle. The fusing system includes a fuser roller, a pressure roller arranged parallel to the fuser roller for providing pressure to a medium passing between the fuser roller and the pressure roller, and a heater external to the fuser roller and applying heat to the fuser roller when the heater is operated to apply heat. The fusing system also includes a control mechanism that the controls the heater to reduce heat provided by the heater when the temperature of the heater is determined to be above a predetermined maximum heater temperature.

The present disclosure relates to a replaceable ink cartridge for providing ink to an ink-jet printer. The replaceable ink cartridge includes a memory associated with the replaceable ink container. The memory has a single data terminal and a reference terminal. The memory is responsive to control signals provided to a single data terminal relative to the reference terminal by the ink-jet printer for providing a data signal representative of stored information to the single data terminal relative to the reference terminal. The data signal is sensed by the ink-jet printer for adjusting printer operation.
