A method of adhering a cosmetic pressed powder product or a stick type applicative product (e.g. a lipstick) inside a receptacle therefor is disclosed. The receptacle comprises a casing having a top end and a base end with a receiving base member disposed at the base end, and the receiving base member has an inner surface. The base member may be designed or adapted to be moveable inside the casing to advance and retract the product. The method comprises applying a silicone hot melt adhesive composition in liquid form to at least part of the inner surface of the receiving base member; inserting the product into the receiving base member on or in the silicone hot melt adhesive composition while still in liquid form; and cooling, and optionally curing, the silicone hot melt adhesive to adhere the product inside the receptacle. Retained-products formed via the method are also disclosed.

Means of retaining a product in a receptacle

A composition comprises (A) a silicone elastomer. The (A) silicone elastomer comprises the reaction product of: (a) an organohydrogensiloxane having an average of at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (b) a crosslinking agent having an average of at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule; and (c) a hydrosilylation catalyst. The reaction product is formed in the in the presence of (d) a silicone polyether polymer; and (e) particles. The composition further comprises (B) a carrier fluid. The (e) particles are dispersed in the (A) silicone elastomer in the composition. A method of preparing the composition is also disclosed.

Composition and method of preparation

This invention relates to emulsion compositions that can warm on contact with ambient moisture and can be used as lubricants on the skin of a person. They may be formulated in the form of a lotion and maintain stability for a significant period of time.

Lotion composition for personal use

A water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion with a discontinuous aqueous phase dispersed in a continuous oil phase has in the continuous oil phase a linear silicone polyether, an &#x3b1;,&#x3c9;-diene crosslinked silicone elastomer, and a nonionic organic emulsifier. The W/O emulsion is otherwise free of silicone elastomers prepared using unsaturated compounds containing silicon atoms. Either the discontinuous aqueous phase of the W/O emulsion or the continuous oil phase of the W/O emulsion contains a water soluble or oil soluble active ingredient such as a vitamin.

Stabilization of vitamins in water-in silicone oil (W/O) emulsions

A formulation for depositing a film on a substrate comprising 5 to79.9 wt. % of an alkylene trialkoxy terminated polysiloxane; 0.01 to 5 wt. % of a catalyst; 20 to 94.99 to wt % of a volatile diluent, and, optionally, 0.01 to 5 wt. % of an alkoxysilane and 0.1 to 25 wt % of a filler. The formulations are especially valuable for forming films to be used in personal care or healthcare applications.

Fast cure film forming formulation

Dendritic polymer conjugates which are composed of at least one dendrimer in association with at least one unit of a carried material, where the carrier material can be a biological response modifier, have been prepared. The conjugate can also have a target director present, and when it is present then the carried material may be a bioactive agent. Preferred dendritic polymers are dense star polymers, which have been complexed with biological response modifiers. These conjugates and complexes have particularly advantageous properties due to their unique characteristics.
