A motor vehicle headlamp assembly includes a headlamp having a light source and a reflector. A lens is bonded or otherwise fixed to the perimeter of the reflector. A surface is provided having a common radius centered on a point situated forward of the reflector which defines a segment of a first spherical surface. A fixture adapted to be mounted to a motor vehicle includes a similar spherical surface adapted to nest with the first spherical surface. The surface of the fixture and the surface of the headlamp are adjustable with respect to each other to permit alignment of light emitted from the light source to a selected direction. A fastener passes through a spherical washer and an opening in the fixture and is spherically movable within the opening over a range of positions to permit alignment of the headlamp with respect to the fixture. The first spherical surface can be provided on a rear surface of the housing or on a housing bracket coupled to the housing. The housing including the interior reflective surface can be formed in a unitary molded body which includes a plurality of vent openings and integral vent channels extending rearwardly from the vent openings. One or more walls forming the channels can be provided by a portion of the housing bracket which is coupled to the housing. The housing bracket can include forwardly extending legs for coupling the lens to the perimeter edge of the housing. The housing bracket can also include features for receiving the illuminating source in locking engagement.

Spherically adjustable headlamp mounting system

A headlamp assembly having a lamp unit supported by three ball pivots each of which is connected to the reflector member of the lamp unit by a bearing member which encloses substantially all of the ball portion so as to prevent foreign material from entering the spherical bearing surface provided by the bearing member.

A light bulb retainer for a headlamp reflector characterized in that the retainer is formed with a plurality of radially outwardly extending flanges which are movable into precut slits formed in a plurality of circumferentially spaced projections on the reflector for securing the retainer to the reflector.

A seal for use between the edge of a housing opening and a cover attached to the opening has an outer gasket portion that substantially blocks the seam between the cover and the housing opening and edge, and an inner expandable and contractible portion that compensates for potential pressure differentials, thereby preventing ambient air from being drawn in through the seam.

An actuator mechanism for a pivoted member which includes a drive crank pivotally connected to a link which, in turn, is pivotally connected to a driven crank for transmitting drive to the driven link and wherein the link cooperates with a stationary pin for ensuring that the link is properly located for continuously providing drive to the driven crank in the proper direction even when the drive crank, link and driven crank are in longitudinal alignment.

Actuator mechanism for a concealable headlamp asssembly

An emergency exit respiratory mask device comprises a rebreathing bag, a face mask, and a head-covering cap, all formed of a single sheet of flexible transparent plastic. The sheet is folded upon itself and sealed along selected margins thereof to determine the boundaries of the bag, a filling and emptying passageway to the bag, and the cap. A mouthpiece is provided at the distal end of the passageway. A whistle is provided in the mouthpiece. An inflating spring is employed in the bag. Printed instructions are provided inside the bag and are readable through the bag material.
