An eUSB repeater is described for passing repeating mode packets between a differential bus and a single-ended bus. An eUSB transceiver is coupled to a single ended bus, a USB transceiver is coupled to a differential bus, and repeater logic is coupled to and between the eUSB transceiver and the USB transceiver. A first enable control circuit receives a digital state transition from the differential data bus and generates an enable signal to an analog single-ended transmitter of the eUSB transceiver. A second enable control circuit receives a digital state transition from the single-ended data bus and generates an enable signal to an analog differential transmitter of the USB transceiver.

Embodiments of methods and devices for Universal Serial Bus (USB) communication are described. In an embodiment, a method for USB communication involves processing received USB data, including searching for a predefined symbol in a version of the received USB data, outputting predefined USB data during the processing of the received USB data and switching from outputting the predefined USB data to outputting recovered USB data in response to a finding of the predefined symbol in the version of the received USB data. The recovered USB data is derived from the received USB data. Other embodiments are also described.

Method and device for universal serial bus (USB) communication

A universal serial bus (USB) link bridge device is disclosed. The USB link bridge device includes a host side module configured to be interfaced with a USB host. The host side module includes a receiver and is configured to receive serial data from the USB host, convert the received serial data into parallel data and store the parallel data into an elasticity buffer. A data controller coupled to the host side module is also included. The USB link bridge device further includes a device side module coupled to the data controller and includes a transmitter. The device side module is configured to receive parallel data from the data controller and convert the received parallel data into serial data and to transmit the serial data towards a USB device. The data controller includes a first-in-first-out (FIFO) memory and a bridge state machine, the data controller is configured to receive the parallel data from the host side module, return an acknowledge signal back to the host side module, store the parallel data in the FIFO memory and transmit the parallel data from the FIFO memory based on a configuration of the bridge state machine. The bridge state machine is configured to decide when to send the parallel data from the FIFO memory toward the USB device.

There is provided a system for reducing the risk of data corruption occurring in wireless systems, by reducing the risk of an un-expected disconnection occurring between a client device () and a host device (). The client device monitors its own power supply, and when the client device determines that its power supply capacity is almost exhausted, the client device sends a low power notification () to the host device. The host device receives the low power notification, and in response closes the wireless connection to the client device, thereby preventing an unexpected disconnection from occurring when the clients power supply is finally exhausted.

Reduction of data corruption in wireless systems

An electronic device, operating as a USB host, has an embedded processor and a system memory, connected by a memory bus. A host controller integrated circuit does not need to master the system memory, but instead acts purely as a slave. The embedded processor is then adapted to write the data to the host controller integrated circuit in the form of transfer-based transactions.

The invention relates to a bus system comprising a first station and a second station coupled by a bus for transferring signals. The bus is arranged to operate according to a protocol in which said first station repeatedly sends requests for data to the second station. The protocol comprises a first mode for transferring the requests in a first request format at a first communication speed and at least a second mode for transferring said requests in a second request format at a second speed. The second station is arranged to receive requests in a mode selected from a group of modes comprising said first and second modes, and is arranged to give a first indication to said first station if it is arranged to operate according to the first mode and a second indication if it is arranged to operate according to the second mode. The first station comprises a processor, a controller, and a translator. The processor is operable to generate request properties for requests in the first request format. The controller is operable to generate the requests in the first request format from the request properties. The controller is also operable to transmit the request in the first format to the second station upon detection of the first indication and to forward the requests to the translator upon detection of the second indication. The translator is also operable to transmit the requests in the second format to the second station.
