An electronic device having a touch sensitive panel has an opened and a closed state, and comprises a sensor circuit, a touch simulation facility and a comparator. The sensor circuit is for generating a touch signal indicative for a position where a touch of the touch sensitive panel is detected. The touch simulation facility is for evoking a touch signal at a position of the touch sensitive panel, and comprises a touch simulation element which in the closed state of the electronic device is arranged opposite the touch sensitive panel. The comparator is for comparing the touch signal with a reference value corresponding to the touch simulation element and for generating a correction signal for adjusting a setting of the sensor circuit for compensation of a difference detected between the position where the touch signal is evoked and the position indicated by the touch signal.

Electronic device with a touch sensitive panel, method for operating the electronic device, and display system

A touch screen display device is described that includes a display panel, a display driver, a sensor circuit and a combination unit. The display panel has a plurality of display elements arranged between a first and a second electrode layer. The display driver is arranged for providing display signals comprising a common display signal and an input control signal to the display panel. The sensor circuit is arranged for providing a probe signal and a shield signal mutually having the same phase and frequency and for generating a touch signal in response to the output signal received from the first electrode layer. The combination unit provides a drive signal to the first electrode layer derived from the common display signal and the probe signal, and further provides an output control signal for the display panel from the input control signal and the shield signal.

Touch screen display and method of driving the touch screen display with signal adjustment

An electrophoretic display unit is presented that comprises an electrophoretic display panel (). A medium () having embedded therein a plurality of electrophoretic display elements () is controlled by a first and a second pixel electrode (). In addition a sensor constructed to generate a signal (S) indicative for a temperature of the display panel and a driver () for driving the display panel () is provided. The sensor () includes a resistance sensor constructed to detect a resistance of the medium () between a first () and a second sensor electrode (), and the driver is controllable according to the resistance detected by the resistance sensor.

Electrophoretic display unit and method for driving an electrophoretic display panel

A display device () includes a row driver () configured to provide a row voltage, and a row electrode () connected to the row driver (). A column driver () is configured to provide N column voltage levels to a column electrode (). Further, a common electrode driver () is configured to provide M common voltage levels to a common electrode (). A pixel (C) is connected between the column electrode () and the common electrode (); and a controller () is configured to control timing of application of the N column voltage levels relative the M common voltage levels to provide NM effective pixel voltage levels across the pixel (C).
