An apparatus for providing patient selection and treatment guidance for ablation treatments, in particular renal denervation treatment, is provided which is adapted to derive, from two time series of diagnostic images indicative of two states of the patient, two dynamics measures in order to determine at least one index indicative of the relative difference between the first state and the second state. Based on the at least one index, it is possible to track the progression of the ablation treatment and determine if it has been completed. Further, the index may be used to select likely responders to the ablation treatment.

Renal denervation ablation monitoring using perfusion angiography

The present invention relates to positioning a medical imaging system in relation to an object. In order to provide improved positioning possibilities which facilitate the workflow during an intervention, a medical imaging apparatus () is provided with an image acquisition arrangement (), which is positionable in relation to an object () to acquire image data () of the object from different directions. An output unit () is arranged to provide the image data. According to the invention, first movement direction indicators () are provided to indicate possible movement directions of the image acquisition arrangement in relation to the object. A computing device includes a thermal map generator () that generates a thermal map for image data voxels or pixels representing a volume or region of interest of a subject based on thermometry image data, which includes voxels or pixels indicating a change in a temperature in the volume or region of interest, and a predetermined change in value to temperature lookup table () and a display () that visually presents the thermal map in connection with image data of the volume of interest. A medical imaging system has improved positioning possibilities which facilitate the workflow during an intervention. The present invention relates to providing guiding information for operating an X-ray imaging system. In order to provide an improved positioning distance control facilitating the work flow, an X-ray imaging system () is provided, comprising a moveable X-ray source () and/or a moveable X-ray detector (). The system further comprises a plurality of object-surface detecting sensors (), a positioning detection arrangement (), a processing unit (), and a display unit (). The sensors are arranged such to detect object data of objects located between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector. The positioning detection arrangement is provided to detect the current position of the X-ray source and/or the X-ray detector and the position of the sensors. The processing unit is configured to compute a situation-map () of the current spatial situation between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector based on the object data provided by the sensors and the current position, the situation-map distinguishing at least between empty spaces and spaces occupied by rigid objects. The situation-map comprises a representation () of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector in relation to the spatial situation. Further, the display unit is configured to display the situation-map to a user operating the X-ray imaging system.

Positioning distance control for X-ray imaging systems

An apparatus and a related method of processing a 2D projection image (-) taken of a tubular structure comprising two or more tubes. One of the tubes branches off from the other at a sidewall opening. The apparatus is configured to estimate a position of the sidewall opening. The estimation is based on a segmentation of the one or more projection images. A marker for the estimated position of the sidewall opening can be displayed overlaid on the projection image.
