A tissue traction device having more than one grasping segment by which the tissue traction device may be engaged with tissue directly, or indirectly, such as with the use of a tissue-engagement member. The tissue traction device may have a peripheral section defining grasping segments, as well as interior grasping segments defined within the perimeter of the peripheral section. Traction may be applied to a target tissue by engaging a target-tissue-engaging segment with target tissue, and engaging a traction-tissue-engaging segment with traction tissue spaced apart from the target tissue. Engagement of additional target-tissue-engaging segments with traction tissue (optionally at different locations) allows the force vector of the traction to be adjusted. A delivery system may include tissue traction device holder to maintain a desired configuration of the tissue traction device during delivery thereof to a target tissue area.

A medical device that includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, the shaft defining a lumen extending from the proximal end of the shaft to an opening on a side of the shaft. The medical device includes a grasping tool proximate to the distal end of the shaft and configured to fix the distal end relative to a target site. The medical device further includes a lock at the proximal end of the shaft and configured to fix the proximal end to an ancillary device.

A medical cleaning valve (or cleaning valve) may be configured to provide cleaning functionality to air and water channels of an endoscope. One or more embodiments described herein may include cleaning valves with features and/or components that facilitate differentiating them from procedural valves. In some embodiments, valves may be made from a limited number of parts and materials, to limit their cost. For example, multiple seals may be formed as a single component, such as via overmolding. In another example, wiper seals may be used to accommodate greater manufacturing tolerances. In yet another example, the valve may have a single elastomeric component, or spring cap, which may combine the functionality of a number of components (e.g., a boot, spring, spring housing, and stem cap).

Devices, systems, methods, and designs for medical cleaning valves

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to traction systems, and methods of use thereof, for endoscopic procedures such as tissue dissection. For example, a traction system may include a filament extendable along an outer surface of an endoscope with a distal end of the filament attachable to a medical device engaged with a target tissue of a body lumen.

Tether traction systems and methods of use thereof

Sphincterotomes and methods for making and using sphincterotomes are disclosed. An example sphincterotome may include an elongate shaft having an outer surface and a distal end region. The sphincterotome may also include a sphincterotome wire assembly having a distal end coupled to the distal end region of the elongate shaft and a body portion extending along the outer surface of the elongate shaft. The sphincterotome wire assembly may be designed to shift the distal end region of the elongate shaft between a first configuration and a curved configuration. The body portion of the sphincterotome wire assembly may include a cutting region and a non-conductive region.

Sphincterotomes and methods for using sphincterotomes

The present disclosure relates to compression clips, and more specifically, to compression clips delivered to a target site through an endoscope for use in tissue resection, for example, within the gastrointestinal tract. In examples, clips are configured to be actuatable in response to a compressive force to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration. In an embodiment, a tissue clipping device may include a first member with a plurality of arms. Each of the arms may extend from a first end to a second end, and the first end of each arm may be received within the first member. The arms may be movable between the open configuration and the closed configuration. A second member may be slidably disposed with respect to the first member.

Clip devices, systems, and methods for engaging tissue

An elongated tissue traction device adhered to target tissue and configured to lift the target tissue away from surrounding tissue. The tissue traction device may lift the target tissue as a surgical procedure is performed, such as resecting or cutting of the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be a bistable spring. The tissue traction device is in a first stable configuration when initially adhered to the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be shifted (e.g., actuated) into the second configuration, such as when the tissue is resected or cut around the target tissue to which the tissue traction device is adhered. In the second stable configuration, the tissue traction device curls and lifts the target tissue from the surrounding tissue.

A medical device that comprises a rim defining a loop in a plane and defining a width measured perpendicular to the plane, at least one wire coupled to a distal end of the rim and extending proximally from the distal end out of the plane to a proximal end of the rim, the at least one wire having a cross-sectional dimension measured perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the at least one wire, the cross-sectional dimension being smaller than the width of the rim, and a sheath configured to cover at least a portion of the rim and a portion of the at least one ware.

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of minimally invasive catheter-based devices and procedures for the removal of necrotic debris. In particular, the present disclosure relates to systems and methods for the removal of necrotic debris from within a walled off necrosis without disrupting or damaging the tissue wall of the necrotic pocket.

A device for fastening tissue includes (a) a shaft extending longitudinally from a distal end insertable into a body to a proximal end attached to a controller which remains outside of the body, the shaft including a lumen extending therethrough and an opening extending through a wall of a distal portion thereof to open the lumen to an exterior of the shaft; (b) a first roller housed within the lumen adjacent to a first longitudinal edge of the opening such that a rotation of the first roller grasps and draws tissue from the body into the lumen in combination; and (c) a fastening element housed within the lumen adjacent to the opening and movable from a tissue receiving configuration to a tissue gripping configuration.

A medical device includes a shaft including a longitudinal axis, an end effector connected to a distal end of the shaft to move from a first orientation, where a longitudinal axis of the end effector is approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, to a second orientation, where an angle is formed between the longitudinal axis of the end effector and the longitudinal axis of the shaft, and an elongated member attached to a proximal end of the end effector, wherein manipulation of the elongated member moves the end effector between the first orientation and the second orientation.

Control mechanism for end effectors and method of use

An instrument for use with an endoscope may include an elongate section configured to move exterior to the endoscope. The elongate section may include a distal end and a proximal end. The instrument may also include an end effector attached to the distal end of the elongate section, and an actuation device attached to the proximal end of the elongate section. The actuation device may be configured to operate the end effector. The instrument may also include a guiding member coupled to the elongate section. The guiding member may be configured to be coupled to an external surface of the endoscope to permit the guiding member to move longitudinally relative to the endoscope. The guiding member may be coupled to the elongate section such that the end effector may extend past a distal end of the endoscope and move in a transverse direction independent of the movement of the distal end of the endoscope.

A support mechanism for a medical device may include an adjustable support that includes a plurality of elongate members movable relative to one another. The support mechanism may also include a bracket coupled to the adjustable support. The bracket may be adapted to be coupled to a first medical device that extends along a longitudinal axis. The support mechanism may also include an instrument holder that extends along a central axis. The instrument holder may be movably coupled to the bracket and adapted to be coupled to a second medical device. The bracket and the instrument holder may be oriented such that central axis of the instrument holder intersects the longitudinal axis at an angle.

A biopsy device may include a first jaw having a first distal tip configured to pierce tissue, and a second jaw movable relative to the first jaw between a closed configuration where the first jaw and the second jaw are axially aligned, and an open configuration where the first jaw and the second jaw are offset from one another, the second jaw having a second distal tip proximal to the first distal tip in the closed configuration.
