An apparatus and methods are provided for a front plate having a diverging central bore for firearm sound suppressors that improves noise and flash characteristics during firing a weapon. The central bore is disposed between a back surface and a front surface of the front plate. An untapered portion of the central bore extends from the back surface to a diverging portion that opens toward the front surface. The diverging portion includes a curvature profile configured to allow for more controlled expansion of high-pressure propellant gases exiting of the suppressor through the central bore. The curvature profile provides an included angle of the central bore that decreases secondary flash events accompanying the expulsion of propellant gases accompanying a fired bullet exiting the suppressor through the central bore. The curvature profile exhibits a cross-sectional area of the central bore that is proportional to a distance along the diverging portion.

A firearm suppressor with a recoil booster may be provided. In one example, the suppressor may include a housing, a back end member coupled to the housing, and a recoil booster coupled to the back end member. The recoil booster may be configured to couple to a firearm. The recoil booster may include a coil spring, a rear cap coupled to the back end member, and a piston configured to slide relative to the rear cap. The rear cap may include a main body at least partially disposed within the back end member and including a first bearing surface to receive a first end of the spring and a flange extending forward from the main body and maintained within an inner circumference of the spring. The piston may include a second bearing surface configured to receive a second end of the spring. Additional embodiments and related methods are provided.

Various embodiments are provided to implement an attachment for a firearm that operates as a flash hider, a muzzle brake, and/or to mount, e.g., a sound suppressor, to the firearm. In one example, a firearm attachment includes a base adapted to couple to a muzzle end of a barrel of a firearm. The firearm attachment includes a plurality of longitudinal tines that extend forward from the base. The base includes a plurality of apertures disposed rearward of the tines and that extend from a bore within the base through an outer circumfery of the firearm attachment. The apertures exhibit a first diameter at the bore and a second larger diameter at the outer circumfery. The apertures are adapted to impart thrust to the firearm attachment in response to combustion gases passed from the bore through the apertures to compensate for muzzle rise associated with the firearm.

Various techniques are provided to assemble, manufacture, and operate firearm sound suppressors. In one example, a sound suppressor for a firearm includes a baffle; a spacer abutted to the baffle; and a circumferential laser weld joining the baffle and the spacer. In another example, a sound suppressor for a firearm includes a plurality of baffles; a plurality of spacers; a substantially tubular housing surrounding the baffles and the spacers; wherein the housing and the spacers define an annular volume surrounding the spacers; an aperture in a circumfery of at least one of the spacers; and wherein the aperture is adapted to direct combustion gases in a radial direction from within the spacer into the annular volume to reduce ejection port flash of the firearm. Additional suppressor embodiments and related methods are also provided.

The weapon sights can be used simultaneously in conjunction with another optical sight and can be mounted on the same weapon accessory rail as the other optical sight. The weapon sights include a front sight and a rear sight that detachably mount to the weapon's accessory rail, but are cantilevered and off-set so that they do not interfere with the optical sight mounted to the same accessory rail. The cantilevered configuration and off-set orientation of the rear sight assembly and the front sight post also allow the shooter to transition quickly between the weapon sight of this invention and an optical sight by simply canting the weapon 45 degrees to bring the desired sight on target and into the vertical of the weapon.

In one example, a firearm sound suppressor includes a housing, a baffle, and an inner sleeve adapted to be disposed within the housing and to substantially surround the baffle. The inner sleeve includes a sidewall adapted to slide against the housing to permit the inner sleeve with the baffle to be selectively inserted into and removed from the housing without the baffle contacting the housing, and a longitudinal split extending through the sidewall and between front and rear ends of the inner sleeve to permit the sidewall to flex to permit removal of the baffle from the inner sleeve. Other embodiments are also contemplated.

In one embodiment, a blank safety device is provided that includes: a body defining a cylindrical bore having a closed distal end, the body also defining an proximally extending internal cavity in communication with the cylindrical bore; a bullet plug received within the cylindrical bore, the bullet plug being configured to distally displace within the cylindrical bore towards the closed distal end in response to the impact of a fired bullet; and a back section received within the internal cavity in the body, the back section defining an internal chamber that is sealed with respect to a proximal bore for receiving a firearm attachment.

In one example, a firearm sound suppressor includes a housing and an interior member. The interior member is disposed within the housing so as to define a chamber between an exterior surface of the interior member and an interior surface of the housing. The interior member includes a lumen and a plurality of vents extending through the interior member between the lumen and the chamber. The vents are adapted to pass combustion gases from the lumen to the chamber. The firearm sound suppressor also includes a blast deflector disposed between the vents and the interior surface of the housing. The blast deflector is adapted to prevent the combustion gases from impinging directly on the interior surface of the housing. Other embodiments are also contemplated.
