A power converter includes an input node on an input side of the power converter, an output node on an output side of the power converter, a switch coupled to the input node and having a switch control node, an inductor coupled to the switch and to the output node, and a feedback compensation and control circuit between the output node and the switch control node. The feedback compensation and control circuit includes two or more programmable resistors to adjust one or more gains of i) a proportional-integral-derivative portion, and ii) a bandpass filter portion of the feedback compensation and control circuit. The feedback compensation and control circuit receives an output voltage from the output node and generates a compensated feedback signal based on the output voltage from the output node and the one or more gains, the switch control node being controlled based on the compensated feedback signal.

Power converter with robust stable feedback

Various methods and devices that involve power converter with stable feedback are disclosed. A disclosed power converter comprises an input node on an input side of the power converter and an output node on an output side of the power converter. The power converter also comprises a switch coupled to the input node and having a control node, a feedback path between the output node and the control node, and a first circuit block on the feedback path with a multipath feedback active filter. The first circuit block is at least partly defined by a pure bandpass transfer function.

A power converter includes an input node that receives an input voltage and a control loop that regulates an output voltage of the power converter. The power converter also includes a comparison voltage generation circuit that generates a comparison voltage based on an operating point of the power converter. The power converter also includes a first comparator that compares a control loop voltage in the control loop with the comparison voltage and generates a control signal. The power converter also includes a mode control circuit that transitions the power converter from the low power operating mode to a first operating mode using the control signal. The output voltage is regulated in both the first operating mode and the low power operating mode.

Various methods and devices that involve pulsed signals are disclosed. An example minimum pulse-width (MPW) circuit comprises a first and second logic circuit. A first input of the first logic circuit is connected to an input of the MPW circuit. A first input of the second logic circuit is communicatively coupled to an output of the first logic circuit. The MPW circuit also comprises a MPW filter circuit communicatively coupled to an output of the second logic circuit, a one-shot circuit communicatively coupled to an output of the minimum pulse-width filter circuit and located on a first feedback path, and another one-shot circuit communicatively coupled to the output of the minimum pulse-width filter circuit and located on a second feedback path. A second input of the first logic circuit is on the first feedback path. A second input of the second logic circuit is on the second feedback path.

Minimum pulse-width assurance

A power converter includes an input node that receives an input voltage and a control loop that regulates an output voltage of the power converter. The power converter also includes a comparison voltage generation circuit that generates a comparison voltage based on an operating point of the power converter. The power converter also includes a first comparator that compares a control loop voltage in the control loop with the comparison voltage, and generates a control signal. The power converter also includes a mode control circuit that transitions the power converter from the low power operating mode to a first operating mode using the control signal. The output voltage is regulated in both the first operating mode and the low power operating mode.
