A stand-alone printing apparatus for transferring one or more digital photographs captured by a digital device to a printable medium. The printing apparatus includes an input member for receiving digital photographs from a source and image processing for generating an image corresponding to each of the digital photographs. The photoprinter apparatus includes dynamically definable image processing software and an integrated user interface with template and settings storage capabilities.

A photoprinter accesses remote digital photographs and files. A computer readable medium has one or more files, such as digital photographs. A computer has access to the files on the computer readable medium. A communication link connects the computer to a photoprinter. The photoprinter has a selection mechanism and access to the computer readable medium over the communication link in response to a user&#x25a1;s input to the selection mechanism.

An apparatus for connecting a printer to a cellular radio system. The adapter allows the printer to conduct facsimile operations. The adapter has a facsimile module which includes executable instructions for decoding fax data and processing the fax data to generate print data for printing; a cell radio; one or more communication ports having at least one of the communication ports in communication with the printer; and a data encoder in communication with the facsimile module and the cell radio. A client/server printer driver including a client-side subsystem capable of dividing the print job into portions to be processed client-side and server-side and then transmitting the server-side portions of the job to a server-side subsystem capable of processing the client-side portions of the print job to create and receiving the processed server-side portions. The system has a server-side subsystem capable of receiving the server-side portions from the client-side subsystem and processing these portions to create processed server-side portions and transmitting the server-side portions to the client-side.
