Embodiments may include a body, a top surface for contacting the computer, a bottom surface for contacting the user's lap, and back and front walls or surfaces. In various embodiments, the body defines a hollow area and a side opening, the back is taller than the front, the top surface is at an acute angle to the bottom surface, the bottom surface has a greater horizontal dimension from front to back than the top surface, the bottom surface has a greater horizontal dimension from left to right than the top surface; the article has a cross section that is a trapezoid (e.g., isosceles), the article comprises a foam portion (e.g., tubular) and fabric covering the foam portion, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, each surface comprises the foam covered with fabric.

Embodiments of cushtop laptop stands and methods of manufacture thereof are generally described herein. An article to support a device comprises a first portion having a first interior surface and a first exterior surface, a second portion having a second interior surface and a second exterior surface, and a third portion configured to couple together the first portion and the second portion. At least one of the first, second, and third portions comprises a cushioning material. In a first configuration, the article comprises a first end of the first interior surface spaced apart from a first end of the second interior surface by a first distance, and a second end of the first interior surface spaced apart from a second end of the second interior surface by a second distance greater than the first distance. In a second configuration, the article comprises the first end of the first interior surface spaced apart from the first end of the second interior surface by a third distance substantially equal to a thickness of the device. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Cushtop laptop stands and methods of manufacture thereof

Carrying cases (e.g., for a computer mouse) comprising a pad and a fastener (e.g., a zipper) around the perimeter of the pad that may form a mouse pad when the fastener is unfastened, and may be folded along a dimension and the fastener fastened to form a storage pouch. Such carrying cases may include a rim to prevent a mouse from sliding off of the mouse pad, an attachment mechanism that may include a strap, a snap button, or both, or a combination thereof. Embodiments are neoprene having a thickness of 1 to 5 mm, have a fold dimension between 15 and 30 cm, or both. The fastener may have a pull tab located at one end of the fold when the fastener is unfastened and at an opposite end of the fold when the fastener is fastened. Pads may be round, oval, or rectangular with rounded corners.

Mouse pad carrying case

Articles for supporting a computer on a user's lap, for cooling the computer, and for isolating the user from heat from the computer. Different embodiments may include a top surface for contacting the computer, a bottom surface for contacting the user's lap, a hollow area, a top aperture through the top surface to the hollow area, a fan, or a combination thereof. The top surface may be at an acute angle to the bottom surface, the fan may include an electric motor powered through a USB cable, or both, as examples. Various embodiments may include at least one side opening or rear opening to the hollow area to allow air to circulate, a foam portion, fabric covering the foam, a plastic portion which provides increased stiffness, or a combination thereof.

In one embodiment, a rechargeable battery pack can be configured to power an electronic device having a first battery. The rechargeable battery pack can comprise a second battery supplemental to the first battery, an external power input configured to couple to an external power source, a power output for powering the electronic device. The rechargeable battery pack can also comprise a first circuit comprising a first power path between the external power input and the power output, a second power path between the second battery and the power output, and a power switch set. When the external power source is decoupled from the external power input, the first power path is disabled by the power switch set, and the second power path is enabled by the power switch set. When the external power source is coupled to the external power input, the first power path is enabled by the power switch set, and the second power path is disabled by the power switch set. Rechargeable battery packs and related methods

A case () can be configured to hold a portable computer () with a keyboard (). In one embodiment, the case can include: (a) a base shell () having: (1) a base panel () with a first side (); and (2) one or more pads () extending from the first side and positioned such that a bottom of the portable computer is capable of resting on the one or more pads; and (b) a cover shell () coupled to the base shell and configured to move between a first position relative to the base shell, in which a user cannot type on the keyboard of the portable computer while the portable computer is inside of the case, and a second position relative to the base shell, in which the user can type on the keyboard of the portable computer while the portable computer is inside of the case.

An article for supporting a computer on a user's lap that cools the computer and isolates the user from heat, and methods of manufacture. Some embodiments include a body, a top surface, a bottom surface, a hollow area in between, an aperture through the top surface to the hollow area, and either a fan to move air through the aperture or an indentation in the top surface to allow air to circulate by the computer. Embodiments include a foam portion, a plastic portion that provides stiffness, a fabric covering and one or more side or rear openings to allow airflow. The fan may be powered from a USB port on the computer.

A method of manufacturing a cord management device. The method includes: (a) providing a power strip; (b) physically and electrically coupling a power cord to the power strip; (c) providing a stationary portion, providing the stationary portion includes: (1) providing a first wall; (2) providing two or more slots in the first wall configured to contain a first portion of a single electrical cord; and (3) providing a second wall spaced part from the first wall, the first wall and second wall defining a first space there between; (d) providing a cover; (e) hingedly attaching the cover to the stationary portion, thereby defining a second space; (f) integrating the power strip into the second space; and (g) locating a portion of the power cord in the first space.
