A hand held nail polish removal tool includes a housing having a main body connected by an elongated neck to a head. An abrasive member is removably attached to the head and the tool contains a motor or transducer for causing the abrasive member to move so that when the abrasive member is positioned against a finger or toe nail, the abrasive member will abrade away any polish on the nail. The polish removal process may be accelerated by applying a solvent to the abrasive member. This may be done by dipping that member in a solvent or by including a solvent in the member or by incorporating a solvent dispensing system in the housing which allows a solvent to be delivered via the head to the member's abrasive surface. Preferably, the tool is powered by a rechargeable battery in the housing. Various different abrasive cover members for attachment to the head are also disclosed.

Nail polish removal tool

A hand held nail polish removal tool includes a housing having a main body connected by an elongated neck to a head. An abrasive member is removably attached to the head and the tool contains a vibrator for causing the abrasive member to vibrate so that when the abrasive member is positioned against a finger or toe nail, the abrasive member will abrade away any polish on the nail. This may be done by dipping that member in a solvent or by incorporating a solvent dispensing system in the housing which allows a solvent to be delivered via the head to the member's abrasive surface. Preferably, the tool is powered by rechargeable battery in the housing. Various different abrasive cover members for attachment to the head are also disclosed.

Hand held nail polish removal tool

A protective optical filter assembly for thin film filters having two transparent substrates facing one another and separated by a resilient element, a sealed region is formed between the transparent substrates by applying a compressive force that compresses the resilient element. The thin film filter may be contained within a carrier. The compressive force may be generated by one or more interference-fit aperture rings or threaded apertures ring, a given aperture ring may be opposed by another such aperture ring or a fixed stop. Alternatively a snap fit carrier may be used to generate the compressive force. The sealed region may have a gas having a positive pressure or a liquid.

Protective optical filter assembly

The process is disclosed for transforming a liquid mixture sample in a pressurized container to a vapor phase sample of substantially the same concentration as in the liquid mixture which includes the combination of a coarse filter, a first orifice or pressure regulator device, a pressure cut-off switch or second pressure regulator, a coalescing filter, and a fitting for linking the device to an analytical device.

Apparatus and process are disclosed for transforming a liquid sample in a pressurized container to a vapor phase sample which includes the combination of a coarse filter, a flow restricting orifice, a pressure cut-off switch, a coalescing filter, and a fitting for linking the device to an analytical device.

Volatization device for liquids

There is described within a portable, battery-powered multiple filter infrared spectrometer consisting of a highly efficient optical system employing an infrared source with a chopper, from which IR energy passes through compound parabolic concentrators (CPC's) and is directed by a beamsplitter to the external sample, where the beam intersects with the sample via reflection and is returned through the CPC and beamsplitter to a stationary filter assembly and discrete detector array where the energy is converted to an A.C. (alternating current) signal. This current energizes an LED bar graph display for spectral identification. This method and apparatus is used to determine IR spectra of solids, liquids on a mirror, and gases in a container with a mirror to reflect light.

Portable filter infrared spectrometer
