Primary value determination rules may be used by entity resolution system to select a 'best' or 'primary' value of an attribute from a plurality of attribute values. For example, the &#x201c;best&#x201d; name, address, phone number, etc. to use in presenting a summary of information about that entity may be determined. Further, the primary value determination rules may each be configured to assign a confidence score to the &#x201c;best&#x201d; values selected for of a given entity. Doing so allows a selection of a &#x201c;best&#x201d; value for a given attribute made by one rule to be overridden by a selection of another &#x201c;best&#x201d; value made by another rule for that same attribute.

Best-value determination rules for an entity resolution system

An entity resolution system configured to process an inbound identity record and to generate a relevance score for the inbound identity record is disclosed. One process of resolving identity records and detecting relationships between entities may be performed using a pre-determined or configurable entity resolution rules. Further, the entity resolution system may assign base relevance scores, association relevance scores, and derived relevance scores to each resolved entity. The relevance score for the inbound identity record may be computed based on base relevance scores, association relevance scores, derived relevance scores, and/or relationship strengths of entities related to the inbound identity record.

A system, method and program product for publishing and subscribing to calendar events publication are disclosed. In one aspect, method and system for providing a publication of calendar events for one or more computer-based devices having a calendaring system capable of operation therein, is disclosed. The method and system comprises defining one or more calendar publication definitions. The definitions comprise an identifier for the publication and a set of criteria for qualifying calendar events from a calendar database for inclusion in and/or exclusion from the publication. The method and system include activating a publication agent for processing each publication definition by applying the qualifying criteria to the calendar database to create a subset of qualified calendar events from the calendar database to be included in the publication. Furthermore, the method and system include aggregating the qualified calendar events into a single identifiable calendar publication making the calendar publication available.

Upon completion of a telephone call, a telephone services subscriber is provided with a post-call interface. The post call interface allows the subscriber to define how future telephone calls from the caller are to be managed. Instructions are received from the subscriber through the post-call interface. The instructions pertain to the management of future telephone calls from the caller. The received instructions are saved.

Techniques are disclosed for resolving entities based on relationships to a common entity. In one embodiment, two entities are compared to determine that an entity resolution threshold is not satisfied. One or more entities commonly related to the two entities are determined. The two entities are determined to satisfy the entity resolution threshold on the basis of the one or more commonly-related entities. The two entities are then resolved into a single entity.

Entity resolution based on relationships to a common entity

Techniques are disclosed for configuring an identity resolution system to support distinct relevance types. Identity records are accessed that are assigned relevance scores of distinct relevance types. Upon determining that the identity records refer to a common individual, the identity records are resolved into an entity representing the common individual. Relevance scores of the distinct relevance types are then determined for the entity, based on the identity records.

Entity resolution (ER) candidate-building keys may be determined for a received identity record. A query may be generated from the ER candidate-building keys. When executing the query, a generic key may be identified. Execution of the query may be aborted upon a condition involving the generic key being satisfied.

Multiple candidate selection in an entity resolution system

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for grouping similar values of an attribute type and determining the best value of an attribute type for an entity in an entity resolution system. By applying attribute grouping rules to organize similar values into groups, an accurate number of distinct values for an entity may be ascertained by counting the number of resulting groups. A preferred group may be selected from the resulting groups and a 'best value' may be selected from the preferred group by applying best value rules.

Further, the entity resolution system may include an alert analysis system configured to allow analysts to review and analyze alerts, entities, and identities, as well as provide comments or assign a disposition to alerts generated by the entity resolution system. Furthermore, the entity resolution system may be configured to handle duplicate alerts, i.e., one or more identical or near-identical alerts generated using the same entities and/or identities as well as assign a relevance score to the particular entities and identities included in the alert.

Determining the degree of relevance of alerts in an entity resolution system

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for verifying incoming telephone calls to a telephone services subscriber. An incoming telephone call from a caller is received. A time variable including one or more of a current date, a day-of-week, and a time-of-day is determined. One or more challenge questions is selected from a pre-defined schedule, in response to determining the time variable. The schedule includes challenge questions for different time variables. The caller is subjected to the one or more challenge questions. At least one challenge response to one or more of the selected challenge questions is received. It is determined whether the at least one challenge response was an expected correct response. If the at least one challenge response was correct, an action is taken with respect to the incoming telephone call.
