The present disclosure provides a self-contained breathing apparatus having a face piece vision system. In one aspect, the vision system includes a display component having an active matrix display device and a transparent heads-up display configured to be aligned with an eye of a user wearing the self-contained breathing device, and an infrared sensor component having an infrared lens assembly and an infrared image sensor for capturing an infrared image of a potential heat source that is projected to the transparent heads-up display.

A system for the display of thermal imaging data is provided with a hands free thermal imaging camera; a transparent display directly coupled to said thermal imaging camera; a head mounted lens; the display being integrated into the head mounted lens in front of at least one eye of a user.

Face mounted extreme environment thermal sensor system

A cross axis cable management system comprising a bird cage mechanism, a clock spring mechanism and a rolling loop mechanism positioned about a first axis, second axis and third axis of a gimbal mechanism respectively. Each mechanism provides defined channels and protective elements to prevent cable damage. The mechanisms also have one fixed end, one rotational end, and an optimized amount of slack for repeatable cable motion. The system effectively manages a large number of conventional and fiber optic cables while minimizing the friction or drag associated with the motion about the multiple axes and preventing cable damage and the resultant loss of performance.
